Arriving in Aspen, Colorado ...

In celebration of joining the 40 Club, Micah planned a little weekend getaway to the mountains! He did throw out several ideas, but in the end, I let him choose. I was delighted when I found out we were going to Aspen, because the only thing better than the mountains in the summer is adding a dash of fancy to the mountain experience!

With school just starting and all our kids doing all the things, we knew it would have to be a quick little trip, so we got the kids to school Friday morning, we flew out. With triple digit temps here in the Lone Star, I was craving that mountain air like you wouldn't believe! As anticipated, as we stepped off the plane, the cool, piney air filled my nose and it was as glorious as I had imagined!

We immediately headed down to Main Street and did a bit or exploring. We stopped at the first yummy restaurant we spotted, cozied up on the patio, a light sprinkle falling, and I think we were all a bit delirious at thought of adult time, no agenda, no activities and no car pooling!

Once we finished eating, we headed over to our condo to check-out our home for the next few nights. This little condo was smack-dab in the middle of Main Street, had all the cozy mountain feels, with a flair of quirkiness! But the best part to the this 3 story condo, was the rooftop patio that overlooked Main Street! I think we spent more time out there than we did inside!

For Dinner, Micah got us reservations at a private getup called the Caribo Club! We started in the cocktail lounge with drinks, soaking up adult conversation and company! The food was delicious, the atmosphere even better and as dinner finished up, we danced the night away on the Caribo dance floor! 

And how about that mountain moon view from our rooftop later that night.... swoon!
