Our third full day in Nevis was dedicated to fishing! I don't typically fish, I like to just sit back watch the boys do their thing! And take pictures, I am always there with my camera in their face!
We ended up letting our resort host book this fishing trip because this area was so remote and didn't have a ton of options. She paired us up with Blackfin Charters and it was an afternoon of fishing beyond anything I have ever experienced! These guys knew the waters and had us reeling in fish non-stop! In fact, between my three, they reeled in over 120 fish, plus a puffer, a nurse shark, a sucker fish and an eel! I think I was most fascinated by the puffer fish! Once he was up to the boat, he was like a giant spiny ballon! We cut him off the line and he just floated about, until he slowing deflated and swam back down! It was incredible! Well, I actually, I was equally fascinated with the sucker fish... Remi demonstrated to us all how he would stick to his arm just like he does a shark! Not to mention, his belly felt and looked just like the sole of a shoe!
A full day of fishing always makes for some tired kiddos when it's all said and done. They always love it, but sack lunches can only keep their belly so full and by the time we are de-boating, they are tired and hangry! All this to say, once we made it back, we had a little bit of relaxation time before we got ready for dinner.
On this evening, we went to another fabulous restaurant called, Bananas! This bistro had a really interesting story of how it got started and was all things eclectic! It was colorful art covering the walls, velvety cocktail couches, island music, dancing bartenders and hidden away in tropical gardens! The food was different with ingredients like pumpkin and fun pairings, like banana chips and black bean dip- which I loved! Seriously, such a cool place!
This ended up being the boys favorite day... I think reeling in fish like that is every boy's dream! They were loving every single minute and I'm not sure this fishing trip can ever be topped!
Another awesome day! It’s amazing to see how comfortable the boys are with their fishing. Couple of old pros! Lots of fish in one day…wowza! The puffer guy looks so cool! The nurse shark and sucker fish would have been my least favorite to catch, but of course Dr. Doolittle would show us how the sucker fish attached itself…he’s gonna give me more gray hair 😂😂. Again, your pics are beautiful and I’m thankful you keep that camera in their faces. Tell Micah his five o’clock shadow had me doing a double take 😊. All the smiles from start to finish confirmed this was another fun filled day! The picture of Roen with his mocktail is a Micah mini me! 😉. Staying tuned for more updates! Love y’all 😘
