This annual trip will always be a favorite of mine. It is about visiting the same storybook town every year, porch sitting in our comfies, afternoon naps, pimento cheese from Pickles, sipping hot tea while browsing my favorite bookstores and riding bikes down the Seaside cobblestone streets.
This little getaway is my reset button. The fall is such a busy time of the school year and though it always seems impossible that we will get our bags packed and slip out of town, somehow, we always make it happen!
This year, the first thing we did when we made it to our Seaside dollhouse, was turn on Netflix and nap. As in leave suitcases in the living room, curl up on the couch and sleep for 4 hours straight! Besides making our way to the kitchen for an evening snack, we actually never even left the couch until we tucked into our beds. It was the perfect way to kick off our girls trip!
We woke the next morning and slowly, one by one made our way out to the porch with coffee, tea and books in hand. We sat, nestled under blankets, a light rain falling, giggling over morning chatter and planned our day.
Around noon, we hopped on our bikes, and headed over to Watercolor to my most favorite brunch stop, Scratch. We always order our food with a popsicle mimosa on the side, because who doesn't love a fruit popsicle dunked in a glass of bubbles! From here, we cruised around on our bikes, popping into our favorite stores, getting welded bracelets, treating ourselves to pedicures and ending the day at Bud & Alley's for drinks and dinner. A day can't get much better than that in my book!
I look forward to hearing about the girls Seaside Getaway and it never disappoints! You three are blessed with a friendship that has grown over the years and it’s more like family! I think it’s the perfect place to reset or recharge…just a wonderful place for rest and relaxation! I can’t imagine riding a bike, but you three look like pros 👏🏻👏🏻.
