A Ladies Retreat...

Abide... staying in constant connection with Christ, dwelling in the presence of God. 

This was the theme for this year's Ladies Retreat. I found it so very fitting, as I have been so intentional with my time these past two years practicing the act of dwelling in Him... through prayer, through the Word, through whispering His name. 

As you know, almost 2 years ago, I went through some of my darkest days when, overnight, I lost my closest and dearest friends through sin and hurt. In picking those pieces up, I realized the only way I was going to find peace and joy again was through Him. I opened my bible for the first time in my life. Of course, I had read parts of my Bible, stories, and scriptures, but I mean, I opened up Genesis and read through Revelation, cover to cover. And this year, I am doing it again. You won't believe how this one act of obedience will literally change your life. I would recommend this bible. 

I also found this book by John Mark Comer,  Practicing the Way, to be life-changing.

So, attending an entire weekend retreat on Abiding was amazing. Not only that, but I got to do it with two of my favorite people, Madi and Gigi! This retreat was incredibly healing, and the fellowship was wonderful!

We forget how important it is to fellowship, but there is a reason God commands this in scripture. Jesus promises His presence where two or three are gathered in His name... that is pretty darn important if you ask me!
