Happy Birthday, Roen!!!

Once Remi got home from school (remember Roen played hooky for the afternoon), we let the birthday boy open all his presents! Lots of clothes, cologne and some new golf shoes! It is of the upmost importance to Roen to look good and smell good.... clothes and cologne always make this boy a happy camper!

After presents, he and Micah set off for some afternoon golf! Followed by the traditional birthday dirt cake and tacos for dinner (Roen's request). It was a pretty fantastic Tuesday celebrating the baby of the family!

It's not hard to make this boy happy, and he was all smiles, all day!

Remi's 16th Birthday...

Remi's 16th birthday was such a fun day!

His wish was to spend it with Elle, so after picking her up, we headed to Top Golf for some just-for-fun golf and a little bite before lunch. It always gets a little competitive with Micah and the boys, but lets just say, I for sure didn't win, haha! On the way to the one surprise of the day, we popped into In-N-Out Burger for lunch.

Micah and I decided to throw in a little surprise iFly fun to the birthday mix! I wasn't sure Remi would agree to doing it, but knew everyone would think it was fun- you know Remi, he really likes things to be his idea. It was of course, lots of fun, and we all had a good laugh over the jumpsuits, goggles and helmets! And I don't want to burst any bubbles, but between you and I, our trainer would tell you I was the best flyer!

Next up, we paid Scheels a visit until our Escape Room reservation. Micah, Roen, and I shopped (you know Roen, he always finds something he needs), while Remi and Elle took a ride on the giant ferris wheel. I would have loved to ride the ferris wheel, but I didn't really think they would love mom joining and well, shopping.... Roen gets it from somewhere, haha!

Remi LOVES escape rooms and we tried to keep everything in the same area so we weren't driving all day long. We ended up booking the Gold Rush room at The Escape Game in the Colony. This was for sure, the nicest and best escape room I have ever done! Of course, us escaping in time made it all the more fun!

We made it home early enough that Elle got to hang out with Remi for the rest of the evening. They never really want to separate and are cute as pie together, but I did give them until 10:30 before we took her home!

It was such a fun day, watching Remi and Elle's sweet little friendship, Roen just tagging along, happy as can be! I can't think of a single thing I'd change, except maybe it could have lasted just a wee bit longer!

And the next morning, his wish was to go to her church (the church Micah grew up going to). Since it was his actual birthday and I can't think of anything cuter than them going to church together, we said yes and enjoyed every minute of getting to sit with family while at it! He has since, talked us into letting him drive him and Roen to Wednesday night church to be be with Elle and always ends the night with a dinner date and driving her home! I really do love that they get to do church together!

A Garden Tea Party...

We have been planning a little family pool fun at our house since Christmas! We decided that since we would all be together, we would celebrate Anne turning 70 with a little surprise tea party! I bet you can guess who was the one to pick the theme!

I kept everything very simple and casual, with just a few little flowery tea-ish details here and there. I also set up a little planting station where everyone got a chance to craft their very own party favor! We had pasta salad, mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup shooters, sliders, chicken salad, hot tea, sweet tea, lemonade and the sweetest little petit fours! It really was the most adorable little tea party I have ever seen!

Celebrating Roen...

Well, that whole 'better late than never' thing.... yes, 5 months late, we celebrated Roen turning 13!

He actually wanted to do a fishing trip, but May is always so busy and then summer proved to be even busier, so when fall rolled around, he decided he wanted to do a little golf day with his three best buds! I actually liked this better, because I'll take being on the course over a boat full of teenage boys at sunrise any day!

The day gave us perfect fall weather- sunshine with a breeze just hinting at cooler days. I chauffeured solids and Micah took patterns in his cart! I don't think any of them could really put aside the fun long enough to actually focus, but I can promise you one thing, they all had the time of their life, having a round to themselves, surrounded by some of their favorite company!

The birthday boy requested steak, green beans and mac-n-cheese for dinner, so while Micah and I got that going they promptly hit the Kiowa course when we got back home. Following dinner they took a late night dip in the pool which led to a bit of wrestling and romping about in the yard- they may be teenagers, but they aren't too old for running through the yard with flashlights! Remi had a Halloween party with his crew, so it worked out perfectly for Roen and his friends to have the house to themselves.

I was in bed before they were, but based on the tired eyes before church, I think it's safe to say, the fun having went late into the night! This age really is so much fun and this such a great group of boys!

*Micah and Pearson showed up to the course matching, so I had to snap a pic!

Celebrating 15....

On the day Remi turned 15, we started the day off early with a dirt cake birthday wish and one present!

Remi had the biggest smile on his face as he went through his new tool set, complete with 3 drawers, wheels and over 400 tools! This gift was a surprise and I'd say it was a pretty perfect way to start his day!

From here we headed to the Maridoe Golf Club to watch some of our favorite pro golfers at the LIV Tour. Micah snagged us tickets to the gallery club where we had food, drinks and a shady place to land! We were all a little star struck watching Dechambeau and Mickleson  warm-up on the putting green.... except me, and I had to ask who everyone was, lol!

We of course, paid a visit to the merchandise store where the boys got hats, hoodies and ball markers before making our way to the course. We walked along with the crowds until we found Dechambeau on hole 11 and watched him for a bit, before we called it a day.

Once we made it back home, Remi opened the rest of his presents and then did a bit of sunset putting with Scout while Micah made a hibachi feast for dinner. It really was such a wonderful day celebrating our biggest boy!
