More Pumpkin Carving...

After Remi had his pumpkin fun with Elle's family, I decided to host a little pumpkin carving too!

I made up a batch of taco soup, invited Elle, her sisters and brother, and then told everyone to bring friends along! Elle brought two of her good friends who just happen to talking to Roen and Reese. It was such a fun evening! Truly, I adore every single one of these kiddos so much and having all those sweet girls over, had my little heart bursting with the best kind of joy!

I am not sure I have ever had so much fun with a group of kiddos and I'm hoping to do a Christmas version of this one evening during the holidays!

Elle reqeusted a little pumpkin, so when Remi and Roen went pumpkin shopping, they grabbed her one. How cute it her little pumpkin inside a pumpkin with pumpkin steps and a pumpkin window?!

Pumpkin Carving....

While I was off clomping around the streets of the Ft Worth Stockyards, Remi was getting to have his own fall fun!

He spent the evening at Elle's with her family carving pumpkins and watching scary movies. According to the votes tallied up, Remi won the carving contest, but I think they all did a great job! What a sweet family Remi gets to spend so much of his time with! Truly, their sweet little relationship has been so wonderful to watch and I just adore her entire family! Not to mention her older sister is dating none other than an old Wildcat golfer who used to caddy for the boys back in the day, Boo! He is like an older brother to the boys, and so yeah, Remi has been spoiled by all these special people in one circle!

Pumpkin Carving 2023...

Every year we get together and carve! Micah cooks dinner, the kids brainstorm, and then they carve away. Roen is usually one of the first ones finished because in his world, everything is a race and Remi is usually one of the last, because in his world, anything worth doing is worth doing right.

I love this night and I dread the day when they are all gone and there are no pumpkins to carve. We only have two years left with our biggest girl and that is a hard pill to swallow. So, I will continue to take pictures, I will refuse to let this tradition go and I will love every single minute of this gooey, orange mess, of an evening!

The kids really like us to judge the pumpkins. Us moms like to go through and give each pumpkin its own little award, but that it never suitable and just proves to irritate them all- they want winners! So, we had the guys go in and judge since they didn't know who carved what!

Jace- 1st place

Remi- 2nd place

Berk- 3rd place

I also want to note that Micah fried all the fish Remi caught on his fishing trip the day before! Fried fish, hush puppies, fried squash.... it was so so good! Also note, that we came straight from trap shooting practice and Remi couldn't be bothered with even taking off his ammo holder, lol!

Carving Pumpkins....

Pumpkin carving day is one of my favorite days of the whole year!!

We always pick a day in October, get together for dinner and then carve our pumpkins! Over the years, the pumpkin patch trips stopped and instead we all just buy pumpkins at the grocery store- it has become more about an evening of being together than anything else! The boys have been doing their pumpkins solo for years now, so I am always the group photographer!

This group tradition started years ago when my boys were 3rd and 4th graders! Looking back at pictures of this tradition is so fun and goodness, how these kids have grown!

Pumpkin Carving...

This year, we didn't actually make it to the pumpkin patch, but we did make sure we got to do the best part... carving with friends. Every year, we get together,  have dinner, sketch out our jack-o-lantern faces and then start carving! Sometimes the kids partner up,  some want help, some don't want help at all, but in the end we always have a variety of spooky and fun carvings to show for our evening!

Pumpkin carving is one of my favorite days of the whole year and it never fails to be an evening full of fun memories with our crew. This year, after we cleaned up the pumpkin mess, took pictures and ate, the boys played a round of backyard football, while the girls cheered. This year was extra special, because for the first time, Briggs really got in on the action! Looking back over the years of us doing this, makes me realize just how fast time goes and how much these kiddos have grown.

These are the days...
