Christmas Eve was such a wonderful day for us.
The boys woke up early in anticipation of Christmas, I crawled out of bed when they got up and we all snuggled on the couch while we watched Roen's favorite Christmas movie, The Search for Santa Paws. From there, I went up to the kitchen, brewed a pot of strawberry tea and made Santa some peanut butter blossoms for later that night. The boys rode bikes, because here, the weather was not very Christmas-y but it was perfect for hopping on your bike and exploring the neighborhood.
The day before, when we arrived home from west Texas, the boys immediately, grabbed their new telescopic fishing poles, Roen grabbed his new tackle box, Remi brought one extra pole because you always need a back up plan when fishing (such a little boy scout) and rode over to the creek- it was pretty cute
Later that afternoon, we loaded up a giant pot of chili, the boys threw on their Christmas jammies and fuzzy socks, we gathered gifts and headed on over to Gran's for the evening.
Christmas Eve at Gran's has been a tradition long before I married into the Davenport crew. We used to start at Grandma & Peepaw's before ending at Gran's, but as the years have gone by, they have moved into assisted living and so, for the first time ever, we started and stayed at Gran's house. There are quite a few of us- 30 give or take- and Gran's house is crammed packed of presents, kids, food, mom's trying to take pictures, kids crying, people laughing, everyone talking over each other- 100 percent, pure chaos. The most perfect chaos imaginable. I have always loved being with Micah's family at Christmas, it is so full of family, love, smiles... it is really just the way it has always been when we all get together and I love it!

It sure looks like a perfect day and wonderful way to celebrate Christmas Eve! All the kids are growing up and changing so much! Micah’s apron is awesome! Keep up the tradition...there is nothing more special than cramming too many people into a small space and making memories...especially at Christmas! Thanks for sharing! Love y’all 🤗
