Last week, we had several more rounds of winter storms hit our area. We had below freezing temps for days and lots of snow- big, white fluffy flakes! This meant that we also had the entire week of school off, which for us, is something to be celebrated!
Along with everyone else in Texas, we had power outs over and over again, went without water, had septic issues from the cold and were forced to put life on hold for a bit, but goodness, the break was glorious! We played in the snow with friends, went sledding on the dam, built a snowman, explored the frozen creek, ate snow ice cream, stayed up late, cooked non-stop, slept in, played too many video games, did a bit of school work and truly enjoyed the blessing of time together!
Roen has some weird aversion to large, puffy coats- you know, the kind that are actually made for this kind of weather, so you will notice in many pictures, he just put on two hoodies and called it good! Half the time I am laughing at that boy and the other half, I think he has no sense at all! In fact, as the boys were roaming the snowy roads one afternoon, Roen decided to lick a stop sign pole to see if it would really stick. After having the top layer of his tongue ripped off and a bloody mouth, he learned, that yes, a tongue really will stick to a frozen pole!
The boys definitely weren't afraid to get out in the below freezing temps and were really good about keeping my floors nice and dirty as they ventured in and out! It was a week of snow that probably won't come around too often, so we did our very best to make as many memories as we could. As I look back at all these pictures, I think it's safe to say, we did just that!

What an amazing week! Life gives you snow...you make snowmen! I love all the pictures...especially the snow Angels. The sledding had to be a blast. I saw Micah up there ready to ride and I hope you took a turn riding down. It looks like a squealing good time! I’m so sorry Roen had to experience losing the skin off his tongue. Pretty sure that won’t happen again 😬. Little booger!! Happy and thankful for the return of sunshine, electricity, water and sewer systems! Thanks so much for capturing all these adventures! I kept expecting to see Remi with a hole cut in the ice and fishing pole in hand! 😉
Love y’all bunches!
