Roen and Micah got asked to join one of Roen's best buddies and his dad in the annual Boys & Girls Club golf tournament, which was Roen's version of the most perfect way to spend a school holiday!
Turns out my library is quite the popular spot- Remi pops in quite often to sit in front of the fire for homework or to snuggle Scout on the window seat. The other evening he had a few buddies over hitting on the simulator and even they made their way over to sit and chat!
Remi continues to be so so helpful around the house as we get things put together, furniture arranged and settled! Roen continues to be out the door the minute we get home from school and we don't see him until dark. He almost always bring an extra mouth or two for dinner! (There is no library sitting for this doer of a boy!)
I have gotten to porch sit on my reading bed with my fur babies as a rain storm poured down, I have loved getting to watch my favorite cheerleader every Friday night, and one evening I caught the boys out getting sunset pictures- it was pretty cute! I was able to successfully bribe Remi and Bennett to get my big 12 ft tree up and have now gotten all of my Christmas up!
I took a picture of this spider (her name is Charolette) outside our door because even though I don't like spiders, I do love gross things and I'm pretty sure that's an egg sack on her back. I have yet to see her since, so I'm sure all her babies are warm and cozy in the house now!
You will see the dogs on a typical school morning- I always let them out when I get up, and then it's straight back to bed for more snuggles until it's wake-up time! This was them waiting on their beds while the boys showered.
The boys use the hot tub all the time with friends, I snapped a shot of Roen's little window seat built-in because if you look closely you can the rat's nest I found one morning after they left for school, and I spied a picture of Roen in Chemistry class on the school page.
It's muffin baking season and my muffin-loving boy is in muffin heaven! He eats them up faster than I can make them- blueberry, cinnamon swirl, chocolate chip.... he loves them all! Him sitting by the fire one morning before school with Scout and a plate of muffins was most definitely photo-worthy in my book!
When Roen is home he almost always brings friends along and I'm ok with that because even though they are all teenagers now, they still love hanging out and visiting in the kitchen with me! One evening while Micah was out of town, I even talked them into dinner and a movie and they were all so sweet about coming with me... even if it was a sappy little Christmas movie!
Life is good. The boys are happy, they are busy and Fall has been so good to us. Now that the stockings are up, Egg Nog is being sipped and presents are appearing under the tree, I can feel the magic of Christmas buzzing about. Tis' the season, and this little elf mama is most definitely jolly!
