Mother's Day 2025...

Years ago, we stopped doing the 'out to eat after church' thing.

We stopped making it a day of travel to and from, to be with the entire family.

Early on in my motherhood, Micah asked me what I wanted to do on Mother's Day. Not what everyone else was doing, not what I felt like I should do, but what I wanted. It was simple, I wanted to be with my three people. That was that, end of the story, and he makes it happen every single year.

Though it means we don't get to be with all the wonderful mothers of our families, it also gives me the gift of having my boys to myself on this day. You never think you could love those sweet little babies more than the day they are born.... at 26, I had no idea the love my 41 year old heart could hold for those same babies!

This year, Micah cooked pork chops, black-eyed peas, tomatoes & okra and cabbage... my version of a perfect meal! Remi helped Micah cook, Roen putted around, I sat out on the patio, reading and soaking in the joys the journey of motherhood have given me. After lunch, Remi power washed my patio and patio furniture... he really does have such a servant's heart!

It was a perfect day, the weather, the company and the relaxation!

We also let Roen open the rest of his gifts since the next day was his actual birthday and was packed full of end of the year activities! He was pretty tickled at what Remi bough him!

The pictures are so good. And the food looks delicious. I must admit I had no idea you liked okra & stewed tomatoes. You pretty much nailed all my favs 🤗
Roen looks very tickled by Remi’s gift…I’ll have to look up to see exactly what a Piss Missile is/does??😂😂
This day reminds me of a Spiritile…”Hello!”
