Sports Banquet '25...

This was Remi's very first sports banquet, and Roen's very last year to help serve as a middle school athlete, and he had some pretty cute little friends helping him for the night!

But, I'm going to be honest, the night felt a little bit like an emotional flop. Remi played a pretty important role on this year's golf team and I think we all expected him to get an award... I assumed, Newcomer of the Year.

Being a momma is so multi-faceted and as much as I aspire to role-model rising above, when it comes to my babies, the mamma bear can come barreling out with a vengeance. But I put on my pretty face, smiled and clapped my hands, because being able to cheer for others is something I need to do, not just preach to my children.

Remi plays with so much integrity and always represented our school with pride and top-notch sportsmanship. It's not easy to sit back and watch those qualities being thrown to the wayside. But, at the end of the day, Remi isn't in it for an award or recognition. His character is a reflection of his desire to be a Christ-like athlete, and that needs no earthly recognition.

Remi, you live life with grace, a true gentleman, shinning with self-control, and a beautiful awareness of those around you. You had a heck of a freshman year, and I am so very proud of your hard work and integrity!

Remi had an incredible Freshman year! Life throws us curve balls, but you handled it with grace. You lived out what you’ve taught the boys. Keeping that momma bear in check is not always easy.
Thank you for sharing your pictures! Next school year will be so fun! The RD’s will be shining bright out there on the course(s).
Love y’all! 😘
