One of the boys favorite things to do is snow skiing. It is actually one of my all-time favorite activities and the slopes just happen to be where Micah and I met, so sharing our love for this winter sport is something we love to do with our boys. This is the 4th Spring Break in a row that we have taken the boys to the mountains. It has become a tradition that we all look forward to.
The boys have become pretty great little skiers and most of the time beat us down the mountain! However, we still put them in lessons every single year. We do this for several reasons. First, I want them to continue to improve their technique- their little 'pizza pie' down the mountain has slowly turned into pretty little parallel turns that make my heart putter. There is nothing better than zipping down the mountain in perfect little angles! Putting them in lessons on the first day also gives them a good refresher and a great way to warm-up.
But, probably one of the BIGGEST reasons we continue to do it, is so that we can have one day of adult only skiing. For me, there is nothing better than flying down the mountain, riding back up, stoping at the top for a Hot Toddy and then flying down again! It takes me back to the days of when I first met Micah, every single time! That was a lifetime ago, but I am so happy that 15 years later, we are still slaying those mountains together!
Meeting and dropping the kids off with Sandy- the best instructor to date...
And off we go...
We met back up with the kids for lunch before dropping them back off with their instructors...
Several times throughout the day, we would spot the kids on the slopes or grabbing a snack- it was fun to watch their progress and peek in at them!
And here are a few outtakes from the first day! There were definitely some falls and it took us all a bit to get our bodies warmed-up!
This fall by Tiz, needed a little recovery time
And somewhere in my mind, it seemed like a good idea to see if I could do a back bend in skis... thanks, Micah for catching this in action

Let the good times roll! I’m cold just looking at the pictures 🥶. Glad Tiz recovered and that you survived your back bend! Girl you’re pushing 40, you better watch out! 😉. Keep the pictures coming!
