Skiing Day Three...

Our 3rd day of skiing did not happen. The Corona scare hit Colorado slopes big time, and it trickled on over to NM. I think we were all a bit disappointed, but we all saw it coming. Knowing it was a day by day call, we were sure to embrace every single slope we hit!

So, instead of getting up and getting our gear on, we slept in, cooked a big breakfast and let the kids play all day long. The boys spent most of their day exploring the snowy forest around the cabin. At one point, we actually had to load up to go find those little boogers because they were so far off the beaten path. We ended up finding them on a giant brush pile, being boys, conversation about who knows what, but loving the freedom of being in their own little world.

Even though our traditional tubing and dinner at Sundance in Red River was also canceled, we decided to go anyways and left early that evening to stretch our legs, eat dinner at Texas Reds and visit a few shops. It was a ghost town. Very few people out and about, so we basically had the town to ourselves. We had warm apple cider cocktails, let the kids have their own table, we filled up on great food and followed it by peach cobbler and ice cream. It was a wonderful way to spend our last evening in the mountains.

The next day, we all loaded back up to start our 12 hour journey back to the great Lone Star, a bit worn out, but all full of memories that was last us until next March...

Every year, we take a picture by the totem pole
