A few weeks ago, we spent the weekend in Broken Bow with Micah's dad, sisters, nephews and nieces for the weekend. The boys had an absolute blast spending time with their cousins, exploring the great outdoors, staying up late, making smores, splashing in the hot tub and having some time away for carefree play. They don't often get this much time with their cousins, so this was extra special for them all!
We cooked burgers our first night there, went to dinner at Shuck Me for some seafood and then got pizza to-go one night. Remi really liked getting to help in the kitchen, which made me realize that he is creeping over that line of preferring adult company to younger company.
The kids stayed pretty busy playing gaga ball, taking advantage of the swing set, playing Minecraft and collecting rocks. Remi brought a building kit to build one afternoon (little Landon was a super sweet helper), we visited the petting zoo where the kids got to hold snakes, we all raced around the Big Foot Speedway, took a fun little train ride around Broken Bow and even squeezed in a stop at the ice cream shop!
We fit in a whole bunch of fun and made some pretty great memories!
We started the trip off with some yummy snow cones on our way to the cabin
Chowing down on some fried frog legs
Laser tag crew
The petting zoo was a huge hit!
There was a huge tortoise- which Roen loved, the boys loved getting to hold the snakes, there was a feisty little raccoon that the boys got so tickled over and Remi loved getting to tell Micah all about the albino snake he learned about in Science this year! Both boys love animals! Roen loves to cuddle and love on animals, he is so gentle. Remi on the other hand, loves to touch, study, and poke fun at all the animals- I was certain that raccoon was going to give him a good ole bite before we left!
The train ride was pretty fun- especially for the littles. There was a day and time where this train ride would have been the very best part of the whole trip for my boys- sadly, those days have come and gone. But I am not sure anyone can ever really outgrow a train ride! Roen was the lucky rider that won a bag of cotton candy with his ticket!
This little ice cream shop was delicious! Roen got rainbow sherbet, Micah got cookies-n-cream, Remi got chocolate chip cookie dough and I couldn't decide, so I got a scoop of strawberry and wedding cake! It was delish!
I'd have to say, the Speedway was by far the boy's favorite thing we did. Remi was tall enough to drive himself and though Roen really was hoping he was going to be tall enough, he was happy enough to let me drive him around when he was just shy a few inches. However, I will say, I think we got lapped by just about every car on the track and Roen giggled and giggled about how slow I drove!
Before we headed out Sunday morning, we snapped the one and only group photo of us all! I have a feeling this will be a trip the boys will be talking about for years and one we will never forget!

Great weekend getaway! Such an incredible place to unwind with the family. All the kids are growing like weeds. I can't believe y'all got to eat frog legs! It's been years since I've had them, but I thought they were delicious. It's a lot like chicken. Little chicken legs...hahaha! And what happened to your lead foot? You must have lost your need for speed....at the wrong time. Oh well Roen is always a great sport. I sure enjoyed all the pictures. It's been a long time since I've seen everyone. As always, thank you for sharing the Davenport adventures...hope y'all have a wonderful weekend! Take care...love y'all bunches!
