Our third full day there, may have been my favorite! I got up early and started the day with hot tea and a pretty perfect view...
From there we got our suits on, grabbed our nets and geared up for our next Destin adventure!
I always try to fit in a boating excursion of some sort, because there really isn't anything better than causing the waters of the open ocean! With lots of digging, I ended up finding this fun little yacht that was the perfect size to accommodate our group of 12. We met our captain over at AJ's on the Bayou where we loaded up and set sail for the afternoon.
Our first stop was Crab Island. Crab Island is actually just a really big sandbar where lots of boats congregate to hang out and enjoy the shallows waters. The boys caught lots of little hermit crabs, we saw tons of dolphin swimming around the sandbar, had ice cream from a floating ice cream shop, and really enjoyed our little afternoon visit.
From Crab Island, we cruised a bit more and then anchored in the harbor. It was fun to be in the hustle and bustle of all the boat traffic while we did a bit of swimming and jumping off the boat. About the time it was to leave, another storm started creeping in, so we headed back, getting only a little wet and barely beating the hard rain.
It's pretty obvious that Remi is a critter catcher. No matter where we are, he hunts and catches whatever he can get his hands on. It really does make him a pretty fun traveling partner! He loved all of his little hermit crabs and fiddled with them the rest of the afternoon!
Once the rain started, the kids disappeared, and this is how I found them... all cuddled up watching Netflix!
To avoid getting out in the storm, we ate at Aj's where we docked the boat. The food was good, the kids played on the pier and Remi had his very first oyster- which he thought was disgusting!
The storm had yet to hit our resort when we returned, so everyone was very happy to squeeze in a bit of pool time before it started coming down!
Later that evening when the weather cleared up, we walked over to the beach and did a little evening exploring....
Remi was pretty proud that he caught a ghost crab

Day 3 did not disappoint! It was packed with some pretty awesome adventures. I love y’all in your monogrammed shirts. I think y’all could be the PDC Crew (Pretty Darn Cute)! 🥰 I need to be able to comment on every picture. By the time I get to this comment section I forget what all I wanted to say. Tell Remi I’m in agreement with him on the oysters. 🤢. Might as well swallow a slime ball with cocktail sauce 😂. I do remember the last two pictures and I think they deserve a frame or a book cover. Gorgeous! And the picture of the flag with the storm clouds in the background...awesome! Staying tuned....can’t wait to see day 4!
Love y’all bunches!
