The next morning I woke to Remi's excitement over seeing deer tracks outside our window! He couldn't believe they got that close to our window! It was later decided that it must of been to help block the wind to stay warm!
Upon further exploration, it was also discovered that Jingle and Jolly followed us all the way to Utah! These sneaky little elves got into the chocolates that were left for the boys! Remi declared that "this proves the elves are real!" Roen then replied, "unless mom brought them with her!" He was pretty quick to retract that theory because it is way more fun to imagine them flying to meet us at our winter wonderland! Remi was a bit fearful that housekeeping might try to cleanup the mess the elves made and touch them, so he wrote them a little note just in case!
The boys then decided that a quick dip in the hot tub would be the perfect way to finish waking up and to get ready for a full day of skiing!
From there, we threw on our thermals, ski pants, gloves and boots and set off to the ski lockers! The minute the door opened these boys were in the snow! Climbing hills, making snowballs, literally rolling around in the glittery goodness... they just couldn't get enough!
We skied run after run, as fast as our skis could carry us! Most of the time Remi was the first one down- he is our little speed skier! He was ready for the steepest of blues right off the bat! Roen on the other hand, started off a bit more cautious wanting to ease into the difficulty of the runs. We compromised by doing a bit of both and by lunch time, we were all ready to rest legs and fill our bellies! While we waited for our food, the boys built snowmen and played in the snow!
After hot chocolate, a peppermint pattie for me, and a quick bite, we hit the slopes and skied until the lifts closed! It was such a wonderful day of skiing! The weather was perfect, the boys were all smiles and being together free of all distractions felt pretty amazing!
After we got all our gear to the locker room, we headed over to Main Street to have pizza at Red Banjo and I insisted on only one stop after dinner. I always like to look for tea houses in these little mountain towns- there is almost always one! I love tea as much as I love books, so when we stumbled upon a tea house named after a character in one of my favorite books, well, I was in tea and book heaven! Atticus was the cutest little tea shop full of treasures to browse and loose leaf tea to buy! The loose leaf teas are named after parts in the book (To Kill A Mockingbird) and on the back of the packaging, is a little excerpt from the book which explains where the name of the tea comes from. I am an absolute sucker for details like this! This was the most perfect way to end our day on the mountain!

A perfect day! Happy boys for sure. They just look so tall in the pictures. And those little elves...😜. Looks like Jingle and Jolly might have over indulged in the chocolate. It’s cool that Remi and Roen don’t want to give up on the magic of them. Of course if I would have had to guess, I would have thought Remi would be the skeptical one. What a fun day with the perfect ending. The tea shop looks so quaint! Fits you to a “tea” 😉. Thanks for sharing...ready for more Davenport adventures! 😘
