Chrleston Day Two...

Day two, we woke and headed over to 5 Church for brunch! I loved this place! 5 Church is in an old church and the entire ceiling is covered in hand-painted text from the book The Art of War! I sipped a mimosa while admiring the incredible stained glass windows and loved every little detail about this restaurant!

After brunch, we browsed The Shops at Market Square and found all kinds of goodies to bring back home! The signage hanging outside the shops brought a quant detail to the historic streets and was most definitely one of my favorite parts of the town! As we walked, we popped in little pubs and rooftop decks to grab a drink and cool off. On this day we visited my favorite rooftop deck, Henry's! It had tons of little staircases leading to little quiet rooftop nooks where you could visit and look down over Market Square.

We left Henry's just in time to catch our carriage tour where we got to see all the historic architecture of Charleston and learned so many interesting facts about how homes were built in relation to what was going on in the world at the time. I loved all the door-led porches and could have ridden around looking at houses all afternoon long!

Once we hopped off our carriage, we visited Rainbow Row to see the color-blocked street, walked down to see the harbor and The Battery, and then popped into Pearlz where we sat on the patio eating an early dinner of shrimp-n-grits! We followed this with a pretty amazing little dessert stop at Carmella's where I had a strawberry shortcake cupcake and then we both got mini cakes to-go!

We took fun little bike taxis a lot! It would have taken us quite some time to walk from The Dewberry to the Market area, so these helped save time for sure! We ended this night on King Street, where we sang everything from Garth Brooks to the Eagles at a piano bar! It was such a good day!

Well Day 2 was incredible!! I feel like I am touring right along with y’all. Charleston is steeped in charm. Reading your descriptions reminds me of some of the books by Nicholas Sparks. By the way…the shrimp and grits looks delicious 😋. What an amazing trip you two are on!! I’ll be ready for Day 3 🤗. Love y’all bunches!
