We flew in from Charleston on Sunday afternoon and headed straight to Graham to meet my mom with the boys! I couldn't wait to hug these two little boogers! We spent the evening eating blizzards in bed, watching tv and getting rested up for the next mornings golf tournament.
Roen started out great, kept a fantastic attitude and ended up 4th, missing 3rd by only 2 strokes. Roen's short game is his biggest weakness and this is definitely where those two strokes could have been saved.
Remi started off pretty rough and when little brother is doing so well, that is mentally hard. His attitude was very negative and it showed in his playing big time. But, as Roen started losing his momentum, Remi started gaining his and ended his last half great. He ended up getting 6th and by the end, apologized and had replaced his bad attitude with a smile.
Like I've said before, these tournaments are so good for the boys and are helping them sift through some pretty tough mental battles. Knowing how to win is as important and knowing how to lose, and more than anything, I want them to grow as little gentlemen who can be competitive, laser-focused, while remaining positive and mentally tough.
