A Girl's Getaway...

Months ago, when September seemed like ages aways, we planned and booked a girl's trip. We had no idea that we would be leaving the husbands to deal with Homecoming mums, garters, pictures, and the tail end of a busy dress-up spirit week.

September is such a busy time of year with school getting ramped up and fall sports in full throttle. Micah had to handle a golf tournament with the boys solo, which can get a bit tricky with warming up and tee times, but he truly came through! He did homework, breakfast, lessons, laundry and even kept the house picked up! What a treat this was to come home to!

We ended up in the most quaint little town I've ever visited! I have been to Florida many times over, but Seaside was a magical treat that felt nothing like the Florida I have ever visited! The houses are colored in pastel siding, the windows trimmed in neat, white frames, they are stories high, with viewing balconies crowing each one. The streets are paved, covered in afternoon bike riders, swimmers walking home from the beach, nestled beneath big, beautiful trees. Night time finds the porches lit with flickering sconces, people grabbing snow cones for an evening treat and the most perfect degree of weather. This place stole my heart and I will most definitely be back, because even though we had 5 days to soak it all in, it was nowhere near enough time.

Our adventure began from the moment we arrived at the airport. Actually getting children ready for school and off with daddies was hard, stressful and a bit emotional for some, but once that was put behind us, we checked our bags, settled in for a quick flight and all was right in our world!

Upon arrival, we loaded up in a taxi for the hour drive to our quaint little cottage called Fantasia, on Tupelo Street. Once we took a tour of our home away from home, we unpacked our bags- some of us brought everything but the kitchen sink (Brittney), found our jeep waiting for us, loaded up and headed strait to the town square. First on our agenda was food and a drink! We chose a place we ended up visiting many times before our trip was over, called Pickles. Here I got the famous Pickle Burger, fries and an early afternoon mimosa.

We stuffed ourselves full, took our drinks and strolled the square and popped in a handful of the shops- we didn't go into all of them, wanting to save some for the next day. After drinks in hand were finished, we loaded back up and headed to the grocery store where we shopped like hormonal teenagers on a movie night. We spent the night eating cereal, snacks, visiting, laughing, watching TV, breaking in the sofa with some pretty darn good company, none of us believing we had actually pulled this trip off!

What an awesome getaway! Y’all look like cats that swallowed the canary…but super cute! To be foot loose and fancy free is the best way to recharge!! I’ve heard so many wonderful stories about Seaside and from the way you described it the stories are true. That picture of the post office is awesome. It just looks so clean and picture perfect. Thanks so much for sharing this adventure! Kudos to the hubbies y’all left behind with lots to juggle. I’m sure yalls momma hearts were a little sad to miss homecoming.
Love y’all bunches! 😘
