The Book Thief...

by: Markus Zusak

This book is absolutely incredible. You need to go by this book and read it now. It has been quite sometime before I have had a connection like this with a book. The Book Thief is on 'my favorites' shelf. This book will no doubt be with me for a long time. The ending had me crying and wishing so bad that it didn't have to end.

This book is set back in Nazi Germany. It is fiction, so you don't feel like you are reading a history book, but the history and research are there nonetheless. This is the first book I have EVER read about the Holocaust so I went into this book with no preconceptions. The characters are so convincingly real that it literally pulls at your heart every page. This book inspired me in so many ways... words just cannot give this author the justice this work of art deserves!

The main character follows the life of a teenage girl who is surviving in her ugly world from the other side. The side with 'lemon colored hair'. The side that surely did not reflect the beautiful heart of this young girl and her family. As Death takes soul after soul, Leisel's world slowing caves in and moving on is not really a choice she made but just whats she does...because the strength of this young girl will astound you...
