Jumping Into Summer...

Literally, all day, everyday!! 

Laundry getting done... not much.

3 balanced meals a day.... ha!

8 hours of sleep.... what's sleep?!

Would I trade any of it for sleep and empty hampers... not a chance! 

Crappie Fishing...

The boys love fishing just about as much as they do golfing! We ended up snagging a guided crappie fish in the live auction for our Kiwanis this spring. It just so happened to be in our backyard lake, and the boys were so excited to learn all the secrets and best fishing holes!

I'd say it was a huge success with the boys catching about 20 each and 3 for me! We even had two big bags full of fish to bring home! 

Certified Boater...

Just before school let out, Remi decided he wanted to get his boater's license. So, he is now officially certified to drive watercraft in the sate of Texas! He also passed his test to get his secondary license for our private lake. 

He has now spent a good chunk of his time out on the jet ski fishing and giving his friends/brother rides around the lake. As of last week, we are also the new owners of a cute little fishing boat.... that very next morning, the boys were up at 5:15, packing a bag and out on the water by sunrise! And rarely a day goes by that they aren't out on the boat as soon as they can get there!

We made them take a test run with us to make sure they knew the ins and outs of all the controls and were able to get the boat back into the slip before handing the keys over. So far, Remi has done a fantastic job at playing captain!

Memorial Day...

As the children get older and older, our family get togethers rarely have our entire crew together anymore. Between friends and activities, its hard to keep the kiddos around for long!

Memorial Day is always a very busy day on the lake, so we usually take it pretty easy. This year, we did a bit of tubing and floated our favorite cove for a bit, before ending our day with hamburgers and hotdogs. Nothing fancy, just a little lake time and sunshine with about half the crew! 

Surviving the Heat...

We are surviving this summer heat with friends, water and fur babies!! And though the summer is quickly slipping by, we still have one more adventure to go and are doing our best to pretend that early mornings and homework aren't looming in the near future!

I actually have started gathering school supplies and have backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes and the majority of clothing bought for back-to-school! We may not be ready, but it's coming!!
