Basketball Pictures 2023...

I am totally that mom that buys school pictures- the wallets, the team pics, the digital copy, oh, and we can't forget the fridge magnets! I suppose it is just one of my dorky 'mom-isms', but I just can't help it!

They had Roen's team do dribbling and tricks shots and then they had Remi's team take 'friend poses' while putting on a 'game-face'. These are just hilarious to me! I especially love the standing team pictures because it shows everyone's height and size compared to each other. It's pretty easy to see that my two are definitely on the smaller side compared to most of their peers!

They will probably hate these one day, but you better believe, they gonna be on a slide show!

A Wrap on Wonderboys...

This weekend, the boys finished up spring baseball! The boys love their time on this team full of their best buds and we love all the wonderful families we get to spend time with as we watch them! After the very last game was over, the other team requested to pray over the players- I can't think of a better way to end a pretty great season!

A Wrap on Wildcat Baseball...

Wildcat Baseball has finally come to an end!

Roen's team ended up losing two (or three?) games and Remi's team went undefeated. We ended our season with a tournament, where Roen's team lost the game that would take them to the championship and Remi's team took home the gold! Rec league is so different from select travel ball and both boys took away so much from playing on these teams!

Roen got the chance to pitch and catch this year, along with playing his normal position of 1st base in rec ball. Roen truly fell into loving the position of playing catcher and loved every opportunity he got being there. Remi also got the chance to play infield at 2nd base and loved every minute of being on this team, celebrating win after win with some of his best buds!

Micah loves coaching the boys and rec league also gave him a chance to coach them both this spring. Remi and Roen each playing on different rec teams along with their traveling team, kept us busy, but looking back at these pictures, makes me realize, it was so worth it!

Pops is one of the boys biggest fans!

Roen's Class Party...

Thursday, on the last week of school, was Roen's last 4th Grade class party!

My mom was actually able to come to town the last half of the week and join in on all of the end-of-the-year festivities. Roen's class got to make donut ice cream sundaes and play Minute To Win games! It was a pretty fun little afternoon!

The boys happened to have their last meeting for Chess Club this day after school, where Remi was awarded his 4th place trophy. He felt he should have gotten 2nd or 3rd, but he did get to bring home a trophy and both boys got a medal for all the work and time they put into after school chess. Later this day, Roen had a baseball game where he got to pitch, which he loves doing! This day also happened to be Micah and I's 15 year anniversary so we had to do a bit of juggling! It would have been so easy to throw this aside, but Micah made surprise dinner plans, my mom stayed home with Remi and friends got Roen to and from his game- sometimes it takes the entire village all on the same night!

Our anniversary ended up being so special! It was squeezed in between all the boys business, but that was all part of the specialness. On year 15, we are smack dab in the middle of doing life with two pretty awesome boys!

The Baseball Grind...

The baseball grind continues!

We have had miserably cold games where I would have rather forfeited the game, Roen has gotten to see and warm up with his favorite Muenster Hornet,  we continue to be grateful for loved ones who come root the boys on,  Roen's team finally had their first two tough losses, Remi passes time at Roen's games with a rubiks cube in hand, Roen usually watches Remi's games huddled up with Lynx,  I typically eat my weight in pickle sunflower seeds, Micah juggles coaching two teams, the boys have gone to bed covered in red dirt many late nights, and the boys fall asleep dreaming of homeruns and game-winning catches.

There is really no grind like the spring baseball grind, and though it wears us all pretty thin, there is no part of me that doesn't realize there will come a day, when this will all be over.... and because of that, I soak up every single inning at the ballfields!

Rain or shine, these little Wildcats make for some pretty fun entertainment!

(I get to take way more pictures in Roen's games because I keep books for Remi's team)

Watching baseball in freezing weather, definitely requires a sleeping bag!

This little 'Roen-Dawson Pitching-Catching Team' is pretty fun to watch!

Wonderboys & Wildcats...

With baseball season back full-throttle, there is rarely a day the boys aren't either in practice, a tournament or playing a game. Both boys are playing on the Wonderboys this spring and they are each on a different Rec teams.

Roen thrives on organized activity, loves having places to be, friends to do it with and going ALL THE TIME. Anything he can do with friends, makes him a happy camper. He has always been our child who is really pretty easy going, ready to go at a minutes notice, not one who loves trying to figure out what do with his time and definitely not one that likes being alone!

Remi, on the other hand struggles with having so many activities taking up his time. The only thing that really gets him through is getting to do it all with friends. He is my child who wants to come home, unwind, play a game (or ten) of ping pong, meet friends at the court, take out the kayak, do a bit of fishing, tinker in the garage and really just have a big chunk of time to do as his little adventurous heart desires. These next few weeks will be pretty rough in this aspect, but thankfully, once he is on the field, he is one happy boy!

This year, Roen has been getting to play catcher on his 10U team and he loves it! Micah was catcher in high school and I think he loves passing on his skills to our little Ro. Roen is a full-on hustler, loves competing and has such a good little attitude- he is an absolute blast to watch! He is never one to get down on other players, he rarely gets down on himself, but you also won't see many who put as much heart into the game.  Often, he catches my eye as he walks up to the plate and he gives me that little smile that is just for momma. His positivity oozes into everything he does and that makes him a pretty special athlete!

Remi was born with a drive for perfection and success. In the same way Roen radiates sunshine, Remi radiates intensity.  His hitting has become what he is the very best at on the field. He has come along way with fielding and has made some pretty great pop fly catches this year.  Remi has grown tremendously this year and I am proud of how far he has come! Watching him grind, learn, and grow into an athlete that owns his efforts and is proud of his spot on the team, has been awesome to watch!

Team sports teach kids so many good lessons and I love getting to see how these lessons are molding my boys into humble little huslters!

I loved watching Remi watch Roen catch for the first time!

Rubiks Cubes... why not, lol!
