With baseball season back full-throttle, there is rarely a day the boys aren't either in practice, a tournament or playing a game. Both boys are playing on the Wonderboys this spring and they are each on a different Rec teams.
Roen thrives on organized activity, loves having places to be, friends to do it with and going ALL THE TIME. Anything he can do with friends, makes him a happy camper. He has always been our child who is really pretty easy going, ready to go at a minutes notice, not one who loves trying to figure out what do with his time and definitely not one that likes being alone!
Remi, on the other hand struggles with having so many activities taking up his time. The only thing that really gets him through is getting to do it all with friends. He is my child who wants to come home, unwind, play a game (or ten) of ping pong, meet friends at the court, take out the kayak, do a bit of fishing, tinker in the garage and really just have a big chunk of time to do as his little adventurous heart desires. These next few weeks will be pretty rough in this aspect, but thankfully, once he is on the field, he is one happy boy!
This year, Roen has been getting to play catcher on his 10U team and he loves it! Micah was catcher in high school and I think he loves passing on his skills to our little Ro. Roen is a full-on hustler, loves competing and has such a good little attitude- he is an absolute blast to watch! He is never one to get down on other players, he rarely gets down on himself, but you also won't see many who put as much heart into the game. Often, he catches my eye as he walks up to the plate and he gives me that little smile that is just for momma. His positivity oozes into everything he does and that makes him a pretty special athlete!
Remi was born with a drive for perfection and success. In the same way Roen radiates sunshine, Remi radiates intensity. His hitting has become what he is the very best at on the field. He has come along way with fielding and has made some pretty great pop fly catches this year. Remi has grown tremendously this year and I am proud of how far he has come! Watching him grind, learn, and grow into an athlete that owns his efforts and is proud of his spot on the team, has been awesome to watch!
Team sports teach kids so many good lessons and I love getting to see how these lessons are molding my boys into humble little huslters!
