8th Grade Track, Bells...

At the beginning of March, Roen had his first track meet of the season! He missed the first meet due to being sick, so he will only get to run in 3 this year. He doens't love track, but I sure do love watching that boy run! His best and favorite race is the 200m, which was my best race too!

4 x 200- 3rd

200 m- 3rd

400 m- 6th

And at the very end, you can see how much Roen has changed since 7th grade!! These babies don't keep!

Deer Valley '24...

We decided that this year, we wanted to be with the kids and in the mountains on NYE, so we loaded up and headed to Deer Valley on December 31st! This is a trip we typically do right before or right after Christmas, so we just pushed it back a week or so.

First things first, I made the boys take their annual picture outside the entrance, then a few more on our way to the lodge restaurant before we sat down for hot cocoa, crab legs, and a bite to eat. Once our room was ready, we headed up to take a tiny little nap before heading over to Main Street to pop into the few shops on our way to dinner. We made reservations at Fuegos, and we of course, got the crab bake, pizza and pasta! If you ever find yourself in Park City, you HAVE to visit this restaurant, it is our all-time favorite!

After dinner, Remi got us a fire going, we all got into our cozies and watched a movie until midnight! It really was the most perfect little evening, getting to be with the boys as we said good-bye to '24 and welcomed '25!

And, as always, I included a little 'looking back' collage at the bottom! To see that their little heads didn't even reach the bottom of the SEL sign when we started this trip! Goodness, how time flies!

Happy Birthday, Roen...

Roen almost always has a smile on his face. His overall demeanor is sweet, pleasing and most of the time I find myself squeezing and kissing him. He wakes up with a smile and goes to bed with a smile. When Remi is not at school, you will find Roen by his side outside playing... usually with the neighbor girls. Roen prefers to be with other people over being alone. He is still a great sleeper but wakes up most nights and crawls into bed with us. Since Remi no longer does this, I kind of like that my baby still does. He goes to bed by 7:30 every night and wakes up around 7-7:30. If it gets much past 7:30 Roen will ask me to put him to bed. This little boy loves- and always has- sleeping!

Roen is also very silly. He loves saying the most random, silliest thing (usually about tooting) he can think of and just dies laughing! Roen is really just full of smiles and laughs!

Roen tends to be my more sensitive child. He cries easily and truly hates getting into trouble. At 5, he seems to have quite a little temper and right now, patience is most definitely not his strong suite. He also goes to bed hungry often because if it's not PB&J, spaghetti or tacos, he likes to complain. Remi and Roen fight ALL THE TIME. I guess this is just a brother thing that will most likely never pass and I have just come to the conclusion that this is how they 'love' each other.

Roen is our squishy little sunshine. I cannot tell you how many times I will be right in the middle of a bad day/meltdown/bad mood and Roen will say in his soft little voice, 'Momma, I love you'. This little boy knows when his momma needs a little love and he is constantly bringing it into my life.

I love you to the moon and back, my little sunshine!

And here is my Remi Roo at 5 years old. In the same shirt- I tried to put the same shorts on Roen but they were a bit big in the waist, which is funny because the shirt looks a lot smaller on Roen than it did Remi!

Now And Then....

These tubs have been around for a LONG time! In fact, when they boys were playing in them the other day, it reminded me of a summer 3 YEARS ago when Remi was just a little tot himself! Sweet, sweet memories...

Happy Easter...

This was Roen's first time to meet the Easter Bunny! Being the laid back little man he is, he really had no opinion of the Easter Bunny. He just sat there and waited until we were done taking pictures. Last year, Remi was not a fan of the Easter Bunny and I had to take the picture with him. This year however, he loved him! He just kept looking at him and smiled for the camera!

This was last year....doens't Remi looks so much like Roen in this picture!?

And this was Remi's very first time to meet the Easter Bunny in 2010...(he was 6 months old here)

Halloween 2011

We went Trick or Treating last night. It was Remi's first time to really go trick or treating. We only went to a handful of places, but it sure was fun! Remi's favortie part was by far, handing out candy. Once we got to Na's house, we ate chilli and handed out candy to trick or treaters. We all sat on the front porch and waited for all the dressed up kids to come. It was so fun!!! Remi would put candy in their buckets and then tell them 'bye bye'. If he ever dropped a piece, he would chase them down until he made sure they got it in their bag. It was priceless!

We started the day by giving Remi his Halloween goodies...Im a bad mom, I didn't give Roen a goodie bag! But look how cute he looked...

this is Remi last year in the same outfit!! I can't believe this fits Roen at 5 months and fit Remi at 13 months!!!

Trick or Treating at Great Grandma's and Pepaw's

We went and visited Great Gran at work...she was very excited to see us!

Trick or Treating at Na's

This was our last stop and by the time we got there, Roen thought he was starving. Here is the best picture of the boys I could get...one screaming and the other with his finger up his nose! HaHa!
