JiNgLe & JoLLy...

Well, our feisty little friends came back for the Christmas season!

They really seem to be getting a bit lazy in their older age, but thats ok, we can roll with lazy! They really seem to only stay in one room these days and I am betting it's because if they ever stray far from the kitchen, they boys don't come look for them! Long gone are the days when the first thing they did on a  December morning was look for their elves, but these little guys represent so many special memories, that a December will never come without their arrival.

They like to bring the boys candy, sweets and ornaments. They have even gotten a few giggles out of the boys and though all their friends are certain they aren't real, I refuse to let any of them touch them! They seemed to come and go in a flash and I am always a bit sad to send them off the North Pole each year!

Until next year, Jingle Bells & Jolly...

Elf Shenanigans

The elves  officially made their way back to their homeland and have left us until next year. They brought the boys funny ornaments, kept us entertained, and we loved that they followed us up to Utah again. Since we got home from our ski trip on Christmas Eve, Utah was the last time we saw our favorite mischief makers.

The boys may be more grown up and in a different stage of Christmas magic, but don't worry, these little guys aren't' going anywhere, and will be back next year for some more holiday fun!

Jingle & Jolly...

Our sweet little elves are back!

They showed up in their 'get-a-long shirt' so I am assuming they were ornery little boogers this year. They have seemed to stay right in the main area of the house this year, as the one time they did venture off, the boys forgot to ever go find them! One morning they brought the boys new ornaments with their Scout and Benny photos and as usual have found the sweets. Although, getting into the cookies seemed to come back to bite them in the butt... literally. I guess they still smelt of chocolate chips because the next morning when they perched up on the hearth, Benny got a hold of them both! Remi's elf had his hat pulled off, but was left on the floor unharmed. Roen's elf was brought up to the playroom where Roen was asleep and got his little bottom chewed up. Thankfully, after a visit to Momma's Elf Hospital, Jolly was good as new!

Roen would not touch Jolly when Benny had him in her mouth, so I think it's safe to say he still has some belief left in the elf magic. I can pretty well tell that Remi doesn't buy into the elves this year, but true to his caring nature, I don't think there is any way he will ask or say anything. He knows how much I love these little elves and their shenanigans and he wouldn't dream of spoiling it! This is the first year, I know he knows about Santa as well. There have been no conversations and I don't anticipate him saying a word about it. This is exactly how I remember it being for me growing up- one year I just knew. Mom didn't have to say it, we didn't talk about it, and in a way it kept so much of the magic alive. I love that Remi is following suite!

This little tradition continues to be such a fun little dose of Christmas cheer and always gives the boys a good giggle. I hope Jingle and Jolly join us every single year, helping us make memories and spreading their little magic, for many Christmases to come!

Back to the North Pole...

We are always a bit sad when Jingle Bells & Jolly take their final flight back to the North Pole for the year.

They kept us pretty entertained this year and helped sprinkle a little of that Christmas magic around each day! They sent the boys a 'Good Luck' message with elf cookies before finals, played a game of Scrabble one night, hung out in the tree, reminded the boys to set out milk & cookies and even came to Utah with us!

See you next Christmas, Jingle Bells & Jolly!!

Elf Mischeif...

I think Jingle Bells and Jolly have been extra tired from all the Christmas hustle and bustle! Those little stinkers have slept all night long, not moving an inch several different nights now. Thankfully, the boys haven't made much of a fuss about it and know that their little elves like to keep them on their toes!

We have found them playing in the pantry, hiding in the boy's breakfast seats, playing pool, hanging from garland, rooting around in my tea canisters, hiding candy canes for an early morning hunt and they even brought their reindeer to visit! This time, their little reindeer had on the most beautiful tags hanging from their collars! We learned that Remi's elf's name is Kringle and that Roen's elf's name is Nutmeg!
