He has a front tooth (permanent) that keeps breaking in half. It sticks out further than any of his other front teeth so the braces should bring it in flush with the others and hopefully keep it from breaking so often.
He is a boy, a very active little boy- it has been hit by a basketball, an air hockey puck, an empty orange juice bottle, and once when he was on the floor playing with the dog, he hit it on the ground. I think there may be another time that I can't remember what happened, but it is a long trip to the dentist, numbing shots and just all together not fun. Hopefully these braces can keep these dentist visits to a minimum because he can't get his front tooth fixed until his mouth stops growing- like in 10 years!
He does look pretty cute in his new blue braces though...
