39 Weeks...

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and guess what.....NO PROGRESS!!! UGHHH! Still at a 3 and 75% effaced. I guess last week when he mentioned that some women will just stay at a 3 or 4 for awhile, I was one of those women!

Oh well, at this point what is seven more days!?

I pray every night that God will let Roen come when he is ready...not me. I guess I should mean what I pray or stop praying for that :)

I have that swollen look that I got right before I had Remi, so I figure it can't be that far away. Time will tell!

Sleepy Head, 19 Months & 37 Weeks...

Here is my little sleepy head waking up from nap.

hugging Mr. Owl

ok, Im ready to get out now!

Today, Remi is 19 Months....I remember when I got pregnant thinking "Remi will be 19 months old when Roen is born"...it's getting close!!!

-Remi has started talking so much more. He repeats things we say nonstop!

-He identifies family members in photos now. It's so sweet. He will just stare at my screen saver and watch picture after picture of usually him, Micah or I. The sweetest thing though is when he picks up a family picture and points (usually to Micah) and says 'Dadda'. Melts my heart!

-Remi still naps great. Sometimes just once and sometimes twice. But almost always, I make him lay down in his crib in the afternoon and 'rest' for 30 minutes even if he doesn't sleep. This really means Mommy gets a break while Remi throws everything out of his crib and hops around in there like a monkey.

-Remi eats pretty much anything. He's not a picky eater, but sometimes he decides he is just not hungry. So it is not uncommon for him to skip a meal simply because he's not hungry.

-He said 'Roen' the other day...pricless

-still gets in bed with us every morning to drink his strawberry milk and watch Disney while we all wake up...one of my favorite times of the day

-constantly pulls up my shirt and kisses/hugs my belly

-Remi really won't let me snuggle him to sleep at bedtime anymore, but if he ever wants me to, I will lay with him for an hour just to savor those rare moments.

37 WEEKS...

UNCOMFORTABLE...I have officially reached that point. My maternity clothes are getting tight! At my last appointment, I was dialated to a 1. Which really means nothing. I go again on Friday and we will see if we have made any progress. I am guessing this little guy will be just like Remi and not make his presence know until at least my due date...probably after!

My feet/ toes/ ankles are permanently swollen. The line you get down your belly is so much lighter than it was with Remi. I still dont' have an outie belly button. I didn't get one with Remi either...it just kinda gets flat. Wierd.

I can't believe I have 3 weeks until my due date!!!!

35 Weeks...

Well, I only have 5 weeks left!! Where has time gone!?

I have started having contractions and tons of cramping. Things I didn't have with Remi until the real deal! I also get these HORRIBLE charlie horse type pains in my hip area...it literally feels like I'm gonna pass out. I can't wear my wedding ring anymore and it definitely feels like Roen has dropped.

30 Weeks...

Well, it's getting to that point...

*where I can't buckle/tie my own shoes

*bending over is extremely hard...so when Remi plays his "let's throw it on the ground and let Mommy pick it up" game, it's not working out too well

*I am craving ice like crazy...just like I did with Remi

*my feet are starting to swell when I am on them too much

26 Weeks...

I had my Dr checkup today and everything looked good. When I told her how much pain I have been in and how uncomfortable I have been, she said it was all normal. She did have one suggestion....

Really....she wants me to wear a full body jock strap?!!! I don't think so! If I get that desperate, I will be putting myself on bed rest :)

She also told me that this time I 'looked' pregnant...I thought "Gee, ya think? I'm almost as big a house and barely halfway there...thanks!"

25 Weeks...

Excuse my 'I just rolled out of bed' look...I actually did just roll out of bed. Anyways, I think I might be pregnant with twins!! My belly is so much bigger this time around! Or maybe it just feels that way?

Roen is one feisty fella!!! He is constantly getting in positions that literally hurt! He kicks so much and so hard that he wakes me up at night. I guess he is just making his presence known!

The first trimester, I felt sick all the time, then I started feeling good again. Now, I hurt pretty much all the time. Either my back is cramping, my legs are numb or lower belly is cramping. These things all happen when I'm on my feet to much.

I pretty much feel like I'm falling apart. By the time Micah gets home, I feel like I could just go to bed and never wake up! This is actually his busy season, so he is working weekends and late nights...great timing!!!!

I tend to be a little dramatic, but in all honesty, this pregnancy has been MUCH harder than with Remi!

But hey, at least I have a healthy little man in there!

21 Weeks and 15 months...

Remi had his 15 month checkup on Tuesday. He got two shots and took them like a champ! Everything looked great. He weighed in at 23 pounds and is 30 inches tall/long. This puts him in the 25th percentile in both...still a little toot!

I am now more than half way through this pregnancy!! I cannot believe how fast it is going this time around! I am still feeling good and so ready to meet Roen!! He is constantly moving and kicking me with his little feet!

18 Weeks...

I am feeling 100% better than I did in my first trimester! Thank goodness!! I feel like my belly is just exploding. I have pretty much gone to all maternity clothing. Some of my other shirts still fit...but probably not for long! Soon, I will be wearing Micah's t-shirts...I am pretty much stretching mine to the max! I am feeling great and so excited about this little man!!!

17 weeks

Yesterday, I was 17 weeks....wow, how time has flown. I had my doctor's appointment and everything looked great. While we were listening to the heart beat, we could hear the baby moving around like crazy...it was the sweetest sound!

AND....

we find out the sex on MONDAY!!! THIS MONDAY!!! They tried to get me in today, but they were booked. I was thinking they would make me wait at least two more weeks! YIPPEE!!!!

Micah and I both feel certain that it will be a girl....we will know soon :)

and to compare....17 weeks pregnant with Remi Roo...

15 Weeks...

I have been feeling a lot better this week! I still get sick off and on but it has definitely been better. Remi seems to be super clingy during the day and wants me to carry him around all the time. This has started making my back hurt. I have been a lot less hungry lately and get full a lot faster now. I think that initial ' I can't stay full' feeling has passed!

*don't judge the pants (they make my butt look big) or the panty line... my outfit has been at the end of my priority list since...well, since Remi was born :)

14 Weeks...

These past two weeks have been YUCK! I feel sick and crampy off and on all day! I had my 14 week check-up on Tuesday and the doctor assured me all of this was normal. She said I needed to eat more...I guess she doesn't realize I am already eating more than Micah right now! I am not really sure how I can shove anymore food into my body! She thinks I am getting low blood sugar. Anyways, whatever it is, I wish it would go away!

My next appointment is Dec 2nd followed by the much anticipated sonogram! She said we would know the sex of baby #2 before Christmas!!! I am so excited! Then, I can get started on the nursery and figuring out what to name the little one!

At my last appointment, I hadn't gained any weight (well, half a pound, but who counts that!?)

13 Weeks...

Today I am official into my 2nd trimester! Boy, how time has flown!

Half the time I am so busy chasing Remi around that I forget I am pregnant! This pregnancy feels so different that the last. Last time, all I though about was the fact that there was a baby in my belly. I guess it is different when you have a little distraction all day long!

This time, I have also felt more nauseated. I haven't thrown up or anything like that, but with Remi I never felt bad. This week especially, I have had cramping in my belly and in my back. The doc says this is normal for a second baby.

I realize, I missed week 12. I will probably miss others too. Sometimes, it feels like there is literally no time to take a picture, upload it and post it!

Cravings...
-sour skittles (wish I had some right now)
-ginger ale
-veggies with ranch (I also craved this with Remi)

11 Weeks...

Today, I am 11 weeks pregnant. I had my first doctor's visit Tuesday and everything looks great! Hearing a baby's heartbeat in my tummy still brings tears to my eyes!

We are officially due: May 12th!

I have already gained 5 pounds...though I feel like I have gained about 20. I am already out of all my jeans (except one pair of 'fat jeans')

As I was looking at my belly picture with Remi, I noticed that by 11 weeks I had already gained 8 pounds...that's probably because there were a couple pounds of baby that I never lost after Remi. Anyways, here's a photo of when I was 11 wks pregnant with Remi just for fun.

Meet Remington

I started having contractions Friday night. We really thought we were gonna go in to the hospital then. However, the contractions slowed down and nothing progressed. All day Saturday, I was on my feet shopping and running errands with my mom and sister- I was determined to get this baby out!

It must have worked, because starting early Sunday I started having regular contractions again. We skipped church and by 3:30 I was having pretty strong and consistant contractions. By 5:30 we decided to get our stuff ready and head to the hospital. We were there around 7:00.

Had to get one last belly picture!

40 weeks and 4 days

Headed to the hospital

I was really nervous that they would end up sending me home. To my surprise, when the nurse checked me, I was at a 4, 100% efaced and my water actually broke during the process! I was so happy! At this point, my contractions were bearable and I was very excited!

Here we are waiting to get our Labor and Delivery Room

My plan was to go as far as I could without an epidural. I didn't want to feel like I failed if I decided to get one, so I just approached the whole night with an open mind. The doctor went ahead and put me on Pitocin to speed things along. So by the time I was a 5 I was having contractions every minute. It was at this point that I said 'bring on the epidural'! The nurse ended up turning off my Pitocin because things were going really fast.

Here I am before the epidural- trying to bear the pain. My mom was rubbing my feet and Micah was holding my hand.

My sweet sister

smiling between contractions

Wondering what Micah did between my contractions?... Cowboys Game!

And here I am after the epidural! A happy camper!

Micah was happy I got the epidural-- he could watch the game in peace :)

gettin' some shut-eye

After an hour of pushing, I was completely worn out and had the cutest little baby ever! Remi was perfectly healthy and had a head full of hair-- just like his momma!

His first photograph ever!

This is later Monday-- I was still in awe and couldn't believe Remi was mine! We had lots of visitors-- this day is kind of a blur to me.

Day Two-- it's all soaking in!

my two favorite boys!

this is the face he makes when he eats-- so serious!

Day three and going home! Yay!

We made it!

All ready in his carseat!

he was not a fan of his 'going home' outfit

gotta have the cigars

Little wore her special 'It's a boy' outfit for Remi's arrival!

His first bath at home

Little making sure we are not hurting her little brother!

And Day four- Today! We are at home and getting settled. We are enjoying every minute of this little guy. We have lost many hours of sleep because of this fella- and it's the best kind of tired there is :)
