A Hard-Earned Lizard...

The boys have been chasing this lizard for over a week now- he lives under our gazebo. The Gazebo is very old, all but falling down and really an eye sore in our yard. So, when the boys asked if they could do some demo to capture this lizard, I agreed thinking it needed to come down anyways. Well, a rusty nail through the shoe, into Remi's foot, a trip to the doctor and a tetanus shot later, the boys finally caught this little booger.

He was not a bit happy about being caught in their game of 'cat and mouse' and gave Remi a pretty big bite. He bit down, wouldn't let go, until Remi had to finally yank him off his finger!

Letting the boys demo the gazebo was probably not my finest parenting moment, but at least they have the lizard to show for it!

We have a lot of these little spiny tree lizards running around the yard, under rocks, in trees, in the flowerbeds and the boys never tire of catching them. This little lizard was a quick little catch and release, but the fact that he stayed on our garden turtle's back, made him an extra fun catch!

The Lizard Chronicles...

Catching lizards is a daily adventure around here. We have may pet lizards- some stay for days, some get let go back to where they were found, but the every rarest are kept in cages and cared for by my little reptile scientists!

The day they start chasing girls instead of lizards will break this momma's heart!
