Hurricane Nationals '24...

At the beginning of December, Micah and Roen headed off to Florida for his Hurricane Nationals Tournament. He had a good golf buddy traveling and playing with him. Believe it or not, out of 100 golfers, they even ended up in the same group on both rounds!

Unfortunately, neither played great. In  fact, Roen played his worst round of golf in years! I can't even tell you the last time he didn't break 90! Day 2 was better, but really he was capable of shooting closer to par. This is just how golf goes and though it's disappointing to show up and play terrible, you have to consider the expeirence. All these 'big' tournaments are so good for learning to keep those nerves in check and practicing consistency when it really counts.

Right after his basketball game on Thursday night, they drove to the airport, flew out early Friday morning where the played a practice round upon arrival. After the tournament on Saturday/Sunday, they were up at 1:30am on Monday and flew home in time to get to school by 10 so that he could play in his basketball game Monday night. He was one tired boy, but if there is one thing he likes most, it's to go, go, go!

Round 1: 92

Round 2: 78

Hurricane Tournament Dallas...

We kicked off September with a brand-new tour!

Roen played in his first ever Hurricane Tournament and walked away with runner-up. With this, he snagged a spot in a qualifying tournament this December. This will take us to Florida and I can hardly wait! He got to play with a sweet little golfer all the way from Hawaii! And even though he never really found that magical momentum that has him playing out of this world, he hit the ball pretty good. It was a fun two days and I love getting to meet other golf families out on the course.

Day one: 80

Day Two: 77

We let Remi stay behind to hang with friends and we took full advantage of being in the big city with a little PGA Superstore visit, Cane Rossa and ice cream!
