First of all, that stuff smells like poop. So I of course, start thinking, what is his poop gonna smell like? Anyways, after we get everything out I give Remi his first bite and he apparently thought it tasted like poop too. Well, I keep giving him spoonfuls thinking at any point he is gonna realize that this yellow squash really does taste good. However, after about three spoonfuls he realizes that he can absolutely take no more. He starts throwing up- not spitting up- throwing up all over himself...then my mom says "Lauri I think he's choking". So the next thing I know my mom is holding him belly down and my sister is hitting his back---what is Mommy of the Year doing? Just standing there freaking out. He is of course, perfectly fine, I just think the poor baby may never eat from a spoon again.
So if at four years old you see Remi still reaching for my chest at lunchtime, you'll know why :)

Oh poor Remi! Have you tried carrots yet? Due to the fact that Addy STILL won't really take a bottle, I started veggies several weeks ago. She LOVES her some carrots. She likes prunes, peas, and sweet potatoes, but carrots are her fav. I get the organic gerber ones. I usually warm them a little too. My thinking was that breast milk is really sweet, so I tried the sweeter veggies first and it worked. I did buy some squash, but we haven't tried it yet...
Oh and the poop...WOW. Let's just say it resembled carrots a bit too much. :) (sorry if that's tmi!)
Oh my, poor baby! Ellie has vomited a couple of times after eating, she hated peas at first but now she likes them. I just kept trying until she got it - hope he changes his mind about veggies! Sweet potatoes are the least yucky!
Oh man, I am so not ready for this stage of his life ... they grow up too fast!
