The Cradle

Though this book is pretty short, I didn't consider it a 'quick' read. I never got that 'I can't put it down' feeling. It was good, but not great. To me, the book is mostly symbolism. It is one of those books that can be as deep as you make it. The main character is on a search to find an old antique cradle for his very pregnant wife. I guess this is why I picked this book up--- I thought it related to my life now. There are lots of different characters introduced and most of them were odd and quarky. I think my main disappointment, is that it felt underdeveloped and rushed.

However, it did have a happy ending and I appreciated the story line pertaining to adoption. Very sweet.
