Remi is Growing Up...

My little man is growing up so fast!!! I am so proud of the things he can do, but as most of you mommas out there know, it's hard to watch them grow up so fast!

Remi can now feed himself! Though he doesn't always hold his spoon or fork correctly and he is sure messier than I like, he does it so well! This means I get to enjoy my food instead of trying to feed him and me at the same time! We have been letting him have his own spoon/ fork at mealtimes for months now. The first sign he showed interest in holding his own utensil, I gave it to him. And for a couple of months now, he has started feeding himself! Instead of me spoon feeding him applesauce, I just put some on his plate, give him a spoon and he is the happiest boy alive!

Whenever it gets close to dinner time, or he sees me fixing dinner...or he is ready to eat, he goes to his cabinet and gets his plate and spoon. It is so cute. The other night dinner was almost ready, but as usual Remi was ready to eat NOW, so he got his plate and spoon, took it to the living room rug and sat down and pretended to eat. It was priceless!

It has been so fun to watch him understand what he wants and communicate it to us. If he wants milk, he goes to the fridge and grunts :) When it is snack time, he will usually open the pantry and bring me what he wants to eat...most of the time it's goldfish:)

Anyways, here is Remi (still in his pjs) eating applesauce for a morning snack. I usually don't' make him sit in his high chair for snacks, but applesauce is messy!
