This book was sickly addicting! It was creepy, chilling and impossible to put down. At only 252 pages, it was very short. Normally, short books turn me off because often they lack character development...something that makes a book worth reading in my opinion. However, this book did not feel short on any level and had amazingly well rounded characters and plot.
This book is really almost borderline psychotic. The writing was so toxic and alluring, that everything about this story almost gives me the goosebumps!
Camille is a reporter from Chicago. She is assigned to cover a serial murder in her hometown. Camille has her own set of demons, that give this entire plot a creepy undertone. By the end of the book, I was not only letting go of my happy ending, but completely terrified of what would be revealed!
I loved this book. Creative writing like this gets my mind rolling and I truely appreciate Flynn's original plot.
This was her debut novel (published in 2006), and her second (Dark Places) came out in 2009. This will be my next book purchase (I currently have six 'to read' books on my shelf, so It will be a bit before a trip to the book store is due).
