NYC, Baby!!

Well, we survived! I say survived, because it was literally only my mom and I exploring the streets of New York for three whole days!

Our First Day Itinerary:
Arrived at The Plaza around noon. Dropped off our luggage and didn't waste a second...

Headed across the street to FOA Schwartz. FOA is the world's oldest toy store and is three stories high! We grabbed some goodies for the kids and even paid a visit to the Zoltar Fortune Teller from Big!

Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court. This was one of my favorite things we did. It was like we came straight out of a Fancy Nancy Book. We were served hot tea from individual tea pots, scones, macaroons, cucumbers sandwiches and other delicate eats!

Carriage ride through Central Park. There are always carriages waiting outside The Plaza and once I spotted this pink one, I knew it was the one we had to ride!

Next, we walked to Dylan's Candy Bar. The is the world's largest candy store. I just love coming here! We got some candy for the boys, and I got the cutest tube of pink rock candy lip gloss!

Got ready and had Dinner at the Todd English Food Hall. We were still pretty full from our afternoon tea, so we had a light dinner of wedge salads and flatbread pizza. It was all yummy!

The Lion King on Broadway. This was our first show of the trip. It was my 3rd time to see it, and I still love it! Mom did too!

After the musical, we ended up taking a Bike Taxi home. We were having trouble finding a taxi and decided to just hop on the little carriage. Not only was it scary as we weaved in and out of traffic- and actually bumped a car that was in front of us at one point (which was apparently no big deal)- but cost a whopping 96 DOLLARS!! Of course, I didn't really realize it was 6 dollars a minute and even if I had, I probably wouldn't have taken the time to do the math! Most expensive 16 minutes of my life!!!

Lots of very special memories made on this trip! Keep those pics coming. I loved hearing about all the outings when Anne got home today. It may take several story "hours" before we get to the end.
