Christmas Around Here...

We are decorated and enjoying the Christmas spirit around here. Actually, I had my tree up and house decorated before Thanksgiving. I like having everything finished that way I can relax after Thanksgiving and not be in a hurry to get everything up... plus it's a lot of work getting everything out and the longer I can enjoy it the better!

Since we tend to move every year or so, my Christmas collection hasn't really grown much over the years... It's hard to invest in big pieces not knowing if it will fit with my next house. This year, however, I got to finally buy neat pieces for this home knowing that every year I can pull them out again put them in there special little spots.

I decided to put our tree in the library because I like my tree to show through a front window... that is also where the fireplace is, so it made the perfect home for our stockings. The library kind of turned out to be our Christmas room. The rest of the house is decorated more subtly with neutral colors that coordinate with the rest of my decor...






This little Santa and Mrs. Claus belonged to my Grannie and Pa and ALWAYS sit front and center on my tree. That sweet little crayola ornament also belonged to their tree and was a favorite of mine growing up.


We LOVE these soft peppermints and snack on them all day long :)


Both of these are new. I have always wanted a nativity set, and when I found this one, I knew I had the perfect home for it :) Growing up, my Grannie had a tree like this but it was green with frosted tips... this one isn't exactly like hers, but it reminds me of her :)




Santa greets anyone who comes in the front door. When I bought this, I thought it would be like 12 inches tall... it is almost as tall as the boys!!! I ended up liking it better big but it was pretty funny when I pulled him out of the box!



And here are the boy's trees. Remi's is full of knit animals and very traditional. Roen's is a more modern tree wrapped in white and red yarn and decorated with white animals.... I like the idea of their trees being very different... just like them! The boys LOVED decorating their own trees!
