Roen's Birthday Weekend...

Since Roen's birthday is in the middle of baseball season, we aren't doing his party until the beginning of June. However, his actual birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so we let him have some friends over for a sleepover at the lake.

I picked him and his sweet little buddies up from school on Friday, and then we headed out to the lake. We had an afternoon of tubing, boating, fishing, and ended the night with pizza, TV and a house full of boys. As the boys all decided where they wanted to sleep for the night, three boys ended up in the bunk room, but Roen decided he wanted to sleep with Remi in Remi's bed. They fell asleep together and I woke hearing their sweet little voices the next morning as they played Minecraft together in the early hours of the morning. They are rarely in close quarters where they don't argue and fight- so this was such a treat to my mommy heart!

We woke the next morning with eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls. After filling our bellies, we let Roen open his presents from his friends and then let the boys do some fishing. Micah and I sat on the porch with hot tea and coffee watching them catch fish, untangling fishing poles and enjoying the morning. After we took the boys out on the boat for a bit, I made Roen lunch- he requested spaghetti (his favorite) and then we took friends home. Once it was just us four again, we let Roen open up his presents from us and Remi. Remi got him a frisbee, baseball cards and some new fishing lures. His birthday really was the most perfect day!!
