So the next morning, we settled in for a day of relaxation. The guys decided that morning that since it had snowed so much that they needed to run to town to get chains to help get us home the next day and we also needed food for dinner. However, when they tried to drive up the driveway, the van couldn't get enough traction. The guys tried for quite some time to get out of the driveway, but after traction straps and shoveling didn't work, we finally called someone to come plow our drive. After getting the drive cleared out, they made it out only to slide back down the hill to get out of the neighborhood.
We were literally snowed in.
Micah was able to hitch a ride to town to grab bigger traction straps and food for dinner. We made arrangements to have the plower pull us out the next morning in hopes of being able to get up the hill and on the road. We were all pretty certain we would be stuck again the next day, but to our surprise, we made it to the top of the hill and it was smooth sailing all the way back to Texas!
Next year, we won't make the mistake of coming to the mountains without 4-wheel drive...

So this would have been the day I would have said never again! Y’all were troopers and looks like everyone joined in the “diggingout” activity. Poor little Claire...her shovel was bigger than her. And I’m not quite sure what you and Elizabeth were doing 😂😂 maybe burying the body. Super cute and you all had wonderful attitudes.
Thankful for a safe trip back home! Again, I have enjoyed all the beautiful pictures. Love y’all!
