Roen is 8....

Sunday, my happy little Roen turned eight! It seems a bit unbelievable that my baby is now 8.

Roen brings so much sunshine to our days. He is my easy-going little fella who tries to keep from rocking the boat and almost always has a smile on his face. He loves being with his friends and gets along with everyone (he is still very shy with most adults). Roen is so easy to love, to parent and to be with.

He has a fierce love for sports- especially baseball. He loves being coached and he loves practicing as much as he loves the games.

Roen loves tacos, spaghetti, broccoli, cucumbers, orange juice, chocolate sprinkled donut holes, beef jerky, brownies, chips & hot sauce and anything spicy. Ending his third year of eating in the cafeteria everyday has transformed this once picky eater into one who will eat almost anything.

Roen still prefers me to lay with him at bedtime most nights. He still sleeps with his Pup Dog from time to time, will crawl into our bed when it storms, loves a good cuddle as he falls asleep, and still loves being read to at bedtime.

Roen loves books. He goes to school, finds a book he likes in the library and then comes home asking for the whole series. Buying books for my boys is something I will almost never refuse! He loves the Pig & Elephant books, the Bad Guys series, the Pigeon books and the Goosebumps books.

I can count on Roen to be honest, make good decisions and to be happy regardless of what we are doing. He still tends to be more of a follower and my little peace-maker, liking everyone to be happy. Roen loves a good challenge- he is as good of loser as he is a winner. However, he can be quite stubborn and bit sensitive- especially when it comes to Remi. They fight, aggravate, hit, kick, tattle-tale and argue like it is the most fun thing in the world.

Roen goes through his days like a happy little magnet, attracting goods things, good people and positivity. Roen makes all of our days a lot brighter!

He woke up early on his first morning of being 8 and started his day with a little sun bathing and peanut butter crackers. Once, he was fully awake, he spent the morning swimming with Remi...

Happy Birthday Roen! You wrote such a wonderful description of him. He’s always wearing a smile and lights up the room. Looks like his birthday was the best. Nice and easy...with a splash of water. I don’t know where time is going, but slow down😩
Love you all!
