Fourth of July...

There is nothing better than celebrating the 4th of July at the lake.

We woke up early on Thursday, threw on our patriotic gear and headed straight to the golf cart parade. This is always the most perfect way to start the day. Tons of kids running around, catching candy, picking out their favorite cart, parents chit-chatting, sipping mimosas- it is a morning full of good friends! From the parade, we headed on over to The Lodge where the kids can play carnival games, ride kiddie rides and get wet on waterslides until the heat is just too much. This year, the boys only visited the bounce house water slide- I guess sweating in lines didn't sound like fun to them. After using up all their tickets, we headed home where we spent the day swimming, jet skiing, BBQing, and sliding down our own enormous slide with some of our very best friends!

We ended our long day with the best firework show our lake community has ever put on. Every time I thought we were watching the finale, the fireworks kept popping! The kids all sat huddled together on blankets covering the lawn, wearing glow sticks wherever they could, completely mesmerized by the show.

What a wonderful day we had creating memories with the people we love!
