Last Day of School...

Friday, May 17th, the boys finally got to celebrate the end of 4th and 5th grade year!

This day also took a bit of juggling! Roen had his awards first thing in the morning and most parents check their child out at this point. However, our school has a policy where once they are checked out, they cannot come back on campus. Remi's graduation happened to be at the very end of the day so we didn't want Roen home alone for such a long time! 

Again, that villiage! Thankfully, Roen spent the afternoon with Anne while Micah and I went up and grilled hot dogs for the 5th grade class party and then went with a buddy while Mom came up to watch Remi graduate at the end of the day!

Roen won two awards this year! Academically, this year was tough for him. He is struggling with his undiagnosed ADD and though we have worked tirelessly trying to find non-medical solutions, his struggle was there all year long. However, with hard work, he was able to bring home the AB Honor Roll and then went on to win the Wildcat Pride Award. This award always pulls at my heartstrings, because my boys aren't always able to bring home the grades they desire or work for. That A or even AB Honor Roll may not always be a reality for them, but being recognized for their effort and character is an award that surpasses all academic awards in my book!

I am so proud of Roen! This little guy has a big personality, more friends than he can count and spends his days smiling and looking at that bright side- you won't ever find a more loyal, honest little guy! 

Once Roen got home, he spent some time with his turtles. He let go his baby turtle that had actually grown quite a bit, to make room for Hariette in his tank. Hariette was his classroom turtle and he felt honored that he got asked to keep her! After releasing his baby and then dressing-up I Love Turtles,  he and Levi spent the afternoon on the kayak, truly, living up their last day of school!
