Our lake community hosted the very first Jr Golf Tournament at the end of this summer. The boys have been looking forward to this ever since we put it on our calendar! Getting to do one of your favorite things with some of you best buds and always a good time!
This was a two-day tournament, 9 holes each day. Remi and Roen fell into different age brackets this time- I always like mixing things up a bit!
After day one, Roen was sitting at 1st with an even par. He played an incredible round with an eagle and several birdies. Remi was sitting in 3rd, 6 strokes behind 2nd. Day two, Roen kept his lead and ended up winning his age bracket. Remi played a heck of round and pulled into 2nd for a tie. They ended up doing a scorecard tie breaker, which put Remi winning 2nd place.
Remi also won the Longest Drive in his division and Roen won the Closet to the Pin in his division. I am super proud of these boys and loved getting to watch them play right here at home!
Since Micah couldn't caddy both boys at the same time, he asked a few buddies to step in and caddy. On day one, Micah went with Roen and the plan was for Micah to go with Remi on day two, but Remi ended up doing so well with Justin, he requested him caddy the second day. This freed Micah and I both up to follow along as a spectator. It was such a fun event for these kiddos!
