A Christmas Ski Trip Day 1...

Since the boys were in kindergarten and 1st grade (5 & 7), we have taken them up to the mountains. It started off as a Spring Break trip, but in more recent years, it has evolved into a Christmas Break tradition! It is always a bit tricky to fit it in during this busy time, but it is always so much fun to load up right as school lets out! The mountain towns are even more magical when everything is decorated for Christmas!

We hop around from place to place, loving to explore different resorts and mountain towns! This year, we landed in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We contemplated several different places in Colorado, but in the end, Steamboat it was!

We booked a quick trip of 3 nights, two full days of skiing and were back home in the blink of an eye! We arrived early on Saturday, got our bags to our room and then went straight downtown to explore the shops and have dinner at Salt & Lime. We found all kinds of goodies, stumbled upon the most quaint bookstore where we all founds books- Me a good murder mystery, Micah a cookbook, Remi a dog book and moon phase chart, and Roen an I Survived book. I ordered a cup of hot coconut tea to sip as we browsed the shops, Roen found a Steamboat beanie he couldn't live without and Remi found a little section of prank toys that had him all smiles! I love days like this where we are in a new place, exploring, finding treasures, smiling, laughing and just being together in what feels like a secret little corner of the mountains!

We ended our first day with margaritas, quesadillas, and early bedtimes, snuggled up, ready for an early morning on the slopes!

Yay…Day 1 of this Davenport adventure is awesome. There’s so much charm in these ski towns. It always takes me back to Red River, when you were 4…I think 😂. The boys look very happy and I see Roen snagged himself a snowball maker. He was preparing for the fight. Love all the pictures. Thanks so much for sharing…can’t wait to see the next couple of days. Great way to kick off Christmas break. Love y’all bunches! 😘
