A Visit From Santa...

Hands down, the best day of the year!

This year, Roen was the first one up- right around 6 AM. He came to our room ready to go, but since Remi and Scout were still fast asleep, we made him get in bed with us until they got up. Well, that didn't happen until about an hour later, around 7 and that hour was probably the longest of Roen's life. In fact, in my dozing on and off, I do recall him getting quite feisty! Once Micah and I got our coffee, tea and got ready for pictures, the boys came running!

Neither boy asked for much this year, but both had one big item on their Santa list! Remi asked for a telescope strong enough to see Neptune, a yo-yo and cards for magic tricks. Roen asked for Dude Perfect clothes, a kayak, scripture bracelets and a new TCU hat. Remi also requested that Santa bring Scout a big bed and some toys! Micah and I ended up getting both boys a new kayak because it's something they both need and use often for fun and for fishing. Santa brought Remi the telescope he has been dreaming of and then surprised Roen with a new electric bike.

Roen's stocking was filled with some sweet wooden critters to add to his collection (he had asked for a penguin), a new golf belt, croc charms, and tons of scripture bracelets! Remi got some pajama pants with Scout's face all over them, a perpetual calendar, a voltage detector, but was most excited about his periodic table and element blocks! Once they went through all their goodies, Remi took off on his kayak and Roen took off on his new bike. The weather was absolutely beautiful, so they spent the entire day outside soaking up the Christmas sunshine!

We did take a little break for our traditional Christmas breakfast- which actually ended up being more of breakfast for a late lunch. The boys got to break in their new mugs from Santa and after eating, they were right back outside on the water and cruising the neighborhood.

Later that evening we let the boys open their last few gifts from Micah and I and then their gifts from each other. Remi got Roen a cuddly penguin blanket and Roen got Remi a portable ping pong set. We finished our evening with brisket and beans that Micah spent the day tending to. It was a yummy way to end such a wonderful day! I loved being in my pajamas all day, sipping hot tea, sitting out back watching Remi and Scout kayak, then going out front to watch Roen zip by, taking pictures, having nowhere to be but at home with Micah and the boys! This most definitely goes down in the books as the best Christmas yet!

I agree…this is a great Christmas! I love all the random goodies the boys received and the fur babies too! To be a fly on the wall when the boys rounded the corner to see what Santa had delivered. You captured some great expressions. The day sounds absolutely perfect. Crazy to think of it being warm enough to kayak and ride bikes, but how exciting. Scout looks like she might be ready to jump in. 😬. Thank you so much for all the pictures. It’s always fun to see….next best thing to being there 😘
Love y’all bunches!
