The 2nd to the last day of school, Roen had his 5th Grade Graduation!
Roen walked away with AB Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance and the Bluebonnet Award. Roen really did work hard this year, and we are so proud of him! After graduation, Micah grilled hotdogs for lunch! Thankfully, he had a little help and they successfully filled the bellies of all the 5th grade students!
It's always a little hard saying good-bye to the elementary campus and the teachers we love so dearly. 5th grade seems to be a tough year and as sad as we are to move on to the middle school campus, I know we are also all so excited! I am especially excited to have both boys at the same campus now. The middle school and elementary are about 12 minutes apart, so dropping and off and picking up was a bit tricky. Poor Roen spent the year getting to school extra early and being the last one picked up everyday. Because we live closer to the elementary, this is just the way it had to be, but we survived!
I got to visit with several of Roen's teacher at the end of the year and they told me how much they appreciated Roen's integrity. How no matter what, they could always ask him what happened in different situations and they could count on him to be honest. I think more than grades, more than meeting AR goals, more than anything academic, his little character shinning bright will always what I am most proud of. Like my Grannie would say, he has a heart of gold.

I know I say this all the time but where oh where have the years gone??? I love all the pictures and I agree with you, Grannie’s saying fits him perfectly…he does have a heart of gold! The smiles of pride are evident on the face of not only Roen, but you, Micah, Pops and Anne! Way to go Roen…congratulations on all of your accomplishments! Enjoy the summer and get ready to rock middle school!! Thanks for sharing this special time with us!! Love y’all bunches! 😘
