FFA Trap Shooting...

The boys joined in with our school's first ever Trap Shooting Team. They both have lots of buddies doing this with them and are loving every minute of this extracurricular. So far, they have competed in two shoots in Pewitt and one in Ft. Worth. They aren't quite good enough to place yet, but these meets are great practice and tons of fun!  Between golf lessons and tournaments, we practice over at Fossil Pointe in Decatur when we can.

I am such a believer in boys being outside, satisfying their spirit of adventure and submersing themselves in the things that are instinctual for boys. I want my boys to grow up with sunshine on their skin, dirt under their nails and a sense of confidence in knowing what makes them tick as a boy. As I watch these boys of my grow into little men, I have come realize there is something about them down at the creek with a net, on their kayak with a fishing pole, surrounded by trees up in the blind, shooting the sky for birds, building a campfire with wood they gathered.... these are times when they seem to be at ease in a way that is natural and inherent to them.

Another fun sport that I could never quite conquer! ðŸĪŠ If I was up then the clay birds were safe 😂. Seriously, I’m so proud of Remi and Roen for competing in a sport that they can enjoy for life. I know I sound like a broken record, but I’d love to see them shoot. You got some great pictures! Clearly you didn’t cook breakfast…because Roen not only purchased the biggest corn dog ever…a few pics later he’s eating pizza! 😂😂. Just giving you a hard time ðŸĪ—. Keep slaying those clay birds boys!! They’re the best…no cleaning required. Thanks for sharing! Love y’all bunches 😘
