This fall, the boys have been playing in the Under Armour Junior Golf Tour.
This consists of a series of tournaments where golfers accrue points based on tournament scores and how they place each week. We had to miss the first tournament so the boys started behind, losing an opportunity to earn points. They had to average a certain score over these tournaments and rank in the top 6 of their bracket.
I am so happy to report that BOTH boys played well enough to qualify for the Winter Nationals in February. We get to pull the boys from school and head over to Florida for some family fun golf! The tournament will be two 18 hole days and I will be caddy for Remi while Micah caddies for Ro. Over the course of time, it seems to serve Remi best for me to be his caddy. I typically leave him to his game, only pushing his cart and handing him his range finder/clubs. He likes that I give him his independence- Micah caddies very vocally, giving constant instruction and guidance. Roen loves being pushed and challenged, where Remi craves thinking space!
This tour has been so fun and something we have gotten to do as a family! I am already gearing up to get their wardrobe up to par with spiffy new Nationals attire! These boys have lots of practice to get themselves ready and I can't wait!
