UA Summer Nationals Day 2...

This was the first day of the tournament at The Match Course. This course was set up pretty tricky because it is a match play course. Because of this, there were 7 par 5s, 7 par 3s and 4 par 4s.

Roen barely being 12 and in the 12-14 bracket, really gave him a good dose of being whipped up on by the big boys. Roen was being out-driven 70 yards on every hole. Had he been grinding his putts, he would have been hanging right with these boys, but unfortunately, he let several birdies and too many pars go by with 3 putting.

By hole 16, storms were rolling in and we got put on a lighting delay. We went back to the clubhouse, had a pizza snack, the boys visited the arcade (where Remi came back with more balls than we knew what to do with) and then a few hours later, we went back out in the rain and barely finished up before the lighting sirens sounded again! We finished our last 3 holes under an umbrella and in rain coats!

Oh, and this little toot stared his day off in his lucky butterfly shirt and a bowl of his favorite cereal, Frosted Flakes- in case your wondering, this is about as serious as his game face gets!

Well I must say his game face is awesome!! Love that little drop of milk 😉. The course sounds tough. Lots of interruptions and I can’t imagine playing in the pouring rain. I probably would be the player that their club slipped out of their hands. 😬. Talk about “fore”!!! Roen’s ability to keep his mind focused is awesome. He must know he’s doing his very best and that is all he has control over. You sure captured some great shots!! Thanks for sharing…love y’all! 😘
