The final day of the tournament had Roen playing the Palmer course. He had high hopes of coming in with a score in the low 70's to bring his ranking back down. Overall, he played very well, expect for the last 4 holes. He ended up shooting a 77 which had him tied for 36th out of 170 golfers. I think the hardest part of this tournament, was knowing that had he not had those two blow-up holes on day one, he would have have been sitting top 20, and likely top 10. But, you learn, and show-up next time, focused and hungrier!
This tournament happened to fall right as our Winter Break started, so we went ahead and stayed the rest of the week at the PGA National resort, to continue our fun in Florida. After golf, we threw on our swimsuits and spent the rest of the day down at the pool, soaking up the sun.... while everyone at home was dealing with below freezing weather!
This tournament has been my absolute favorite to date. Seeing Roen get so close, is something I'll never forget! He puts in so much work every single day, and pushes himself hard. He sets goals, and watching him get closer and closer makes me one proud mama!
Well done, Roen, well done!
