This year, we spent Christmas with my family in San Angelo. It always works out well because everyone is off for the Christmas break which means we get to stay for a lot longer than we normally do. This time, we stayed a week. Besides presents and Santa, we baked & decorated cookies, made tents, painted, went to the train depot, went on the light tour, ate Mexican food, made smores and threw Aunt Whit a baby shower!
Making cookies... first we put all the ingredients together, then rolled out the dough and cut out shapes, baked them and then the best part... the kids decorated them with icing and sprinkles! This might have to become a tradition, because all three kids loved it...
Christmas Eve... we opened presents and enjoyed our traditional Chick-fil-A finger foods...
Roen was so excited about his new Cowboys jersey... his current one was about a size too small, but bless his heart, he loves it so much that he would still squeeze into every chance he got!
Remi got this really cool tent framing kit where you connect these sticks together, throw a blanket over it and just like that, you have a tent! Of course, we had to build one right then in there. In fact, he had us move it upstairs and attempted to spend the night in it.
Christmas Morning... Santa came and brought the kids all kinds of goodies. The boys got a fire pit and all the makings for smores. This was probably their favorite gift of all...
This is my sweet little niece, Mallorie. My mom bought all the kids pjs to wear, but Mallorie insisted on wearing Roen's favorite t-shirt and his pajama bottoms! Actually, Remi is the only one who would wear them!
Aunt Cici made everyone name tags with their 'elf name' to wear on Christmas day...
Cici also took the kids for a wagon ride up and down the street way more times than I would have :)
And the day after Christmas, we took the kids to dinner, the train depot and ended the night with the local light tour... I loved it!
These two have the sweetest little bond. Roen absolutely adores his cousin Mallorie... he tells me she is his best friend :)
This sweet little man at the train depot was teaching the boys about morse code
The boys really liked the trains... keeping their hands off was a different story though :)
What a very Merry Christmas we had... there is no doubt that the best blessing of all is the time we get to spend with family :)
