The Second Week of School...

The second week of school has gone pretty smoothly.

However, at the end of last week, as I was putting Roen to bed, this conversation happened:

Roen: Mom, can I tell you something?
Me: Of course!
Roen: One thing I don't like about riding the bus is, it's really squishy.
Me: If you don't want to ride the bus anymore, I am more than happy to come pick you up!!!
Roen: Okay, I want you to start picking me up

But of course, Remi finally decided he likes riding the bus, so this week, I have been picking Roen up and about 10 minutes after we get home, I meet Remi at the end of the driveway when he gets off the bus!

I am honestly a bit relieved, I just wasn't ready for the whole bus thing and I am hoping, that at some point, Remi will decide he wants to be picked up again too!

Then, on Wednesday, as I am walking Remi to the house (Roen is already inside doing his homework), he tells me that Roen had to sit on the curb at BOTH recesses. I said "What!? Why?!". Apparently, Roen had to sit out for 5 minutes at one for talking during Rest Time and 5 minutes at the other for not keeping his hands to himself. As soon as I got back to the house and asked Roen about it, he burst into tears.

Although, he didn't get a ticket pulled, I don't take things like this well. And to be honest, I am in total shock! Roen has always been my sweet, agreeable child and Remi has almost always proved to be more challenging and strong-willed. But Remi NEVER had to sit out twice in one day and especially not in the second week of school!!

On top of that, Remi always told me as soon as he got in the car when he got in trouble! I have a feeling Roen would not have mentioned this at all if it weren't for Remi!! That sneaky little booger!!

All I can say, is I am thankful that they can keep an eye on each other at school and Roen WAS NOT HAPPY about making me disappointed... or getting grounded from the ipad!

So... while Remi was outside doing his thing....

Roen was inside on his bed with a broken heart.... (I did not send him to his bed- this is what he does when he is really upset)

And it begins...Roen is just having some growing pains! It's still exciting to be with new classmates, aka "playmates"! Honestly I never thought Roen would ever get in trouble for talking. He can be so shy. I'm sure he will do great! Being the second child is hard...really, really hard! Speaking from experience...lol. Looks like he's pretty hard on himself. Good Luck....love & hugs to you all!
