Trimming the Tree...

I have been busy putting up Christmas decor since Halloween ended. Last week, we finally got our big tree out and the boys could hardly wait to get the ornaments on it!

They each have a small tree for their rooms- which I let them decorate all by themselves. I get them a new ornament for their little tree every year and they just have the best time decorating and deciding where to put it!

But, their most favorite, is decorating the family tree. They just love pulling ornaments out of boxes, asking if it is my most favorite one (Roen) and then hanging them all in one spot and usually on the same branch. It is a little tradition that just us three do every year and for me, it is one of the best parts of the holiday!! We spent an entire afternoon decorating, I had to pull Roen away to eat dinner and then he woke up the next morning wanting to decorate more.... only to find out I had already finished putting all the ornaments on!

Roen's little tree is soft, white and has only branches. Since Remi is older, he had his tree first and I wanted their trees to be totally different and reflective of them. So Roen's tree is sweet and simple just like him...

(this was Roen's new ornament this year)

Remi's tree is very traditional. It is tall and hardy... ready for the extra love Remi likes to give it! It is filled with lots of soft and furry animals- deer, dogs, monkeys... for my rough & tough, animal-loving little dude...

Here they are decorating the family tree...

Roen still has a BIG love for all things transportation- trucks, trains, boats, buses, planes- he loves them all! He likes to sneak into the library, take off the boats, tractors and firetruck ornaments and quietly push them around the house...

Presents are quickly filling up the space under our tree, the boys can hardly wait for Santa to come and we are ready for Christmas!!
